I Love Being African American

for those who are black and proud! Male or Female 128 People

    Proud No Matter What

I joined this group after I saw another that said "I hate being Black." The color of your skin is something that I feel like all people should be proud of. It doesn't define who you are, but it defines your history and your culture. I don't know how any black person could be...

So while I was exploring different groups I

found. some that were centered around hating being black, more specifically a black woman. I did not know how to respond. I wish there was a way to show them the beauty in our race. Being black is so amazing to me; I can't fathom being anything different. It saddens me to know...

    I love being African American,

I wouldn't trade the color of my skin for anything is this world. There's power in my history. I am strong and my brown skin is beautiful and so are my brothers and sisters.

Wouldn't Trade It For Any Other Race

I love being black. I never understood why some black people hate being black and want to claim other ethnicity's they know they are not apart of. I love my natural hair and I love when other black women wear theirs. I "wear" my blackness with pride.

I like the fact that I'm African American

because I was born here in the USA where opportunities were given to you like education in order to make a life for yourself....... But I also like the fact that I am African and that I can embrace my roots by the culture that I've always been exposed to and that I get to go and...

As I've gotten older I have become more

Afro-centric. I love my dark skin and kinky hair, lips, nose, all the features I get from my African ancestors.
