Adding a Little Art to the Wilderness

There is a park near my hometown in IL called Allerton Park. I used to go there as often as I could. Its surrounded by woods and there are all kinds of trails to walk. And the Allerton Mansion is beautiful, definitely worth a tour. Plus then there are all kinds of statues outside...

I Have My Mind Twisted Over What To Say ....

there is so many levels of wilderness. To go on a canoe trip in northern ontario as a kid, and do a couple portages, there is nothing to be found but peace and tranquilty. The peaceful solitude of trees, of water, of air, of silence, of sunlight, of wind, of stars, of nature, of...

The wild is such a refreshing place,

the quiet, the smell of rain on hundreds of trees, the beautiful stars, finally visible unlike in the city. I always feel so much more energized when I finally get to the countryside.

    Good Ole' Days

Being at home in nature--in the forest reminds me of when i was a little girl. I grew up with my Grandparents and my Grandpa and i almost every day went in the woods. I also had my own horse, a little white pony named Prince. I would help my Grandpa pile wood he had cut and we;d...

    My Retirement

I hope to one day be able to survive in the woods, permanently. I've always loved the little things about walking around the woods, but until recently always put it out of my head as a place unatainable to live in. Lately I've been studying how to grow and catch food, etc. And I...

    The Backcountry,

When I get the chance I like to head to the backcountry, wilderness. No roads, no power, no people. Just me, my dog, the wildlife and the elements. The deeper I push into the bush the better. It helps me keep focus in my life, strengthens me and keeps me zen. I've already seen...

    Peaceful and Free

I love being in the woods.  I love walking and enjoying nature.  I love to hear the birds sing while the creek is flowing.  I love smelling the earthy smells and being at peace.  When I am in the woods it feels as if I am free.  Nothing can harm me and I...

So i figured i would post some of my recent

experience about me and my son's 5 day wilderness trip this past week. We went to the pine barrens in nj. For those that never heard of the pine barrens, it is a forested area that takes up almost 40% of southern and mid new jersey. The pine barrens are unlike any other forest...

    Reconnecting With the Wilderness

I never thought I would say this someday, but I guess I'm addicted to wilderness now! As a kid, my parents, and especially my father took me to wilderness every weekend in the summertime, picking berries and mushrooms. When I became a teenager, I started to rebel, and didn't want...

I would rather be out there. No city noise, no stress, and no hassles. Just beautiful scenery, sounds of nature, peace and relaxation. I am quite drawn to the wilderness and nature. I'd rather see the deer, moose, elk, even the cougars bears and wolves. Wouldn't you rather be in a...

    I Love The Back Country

I spend 40 hours a week having to deal with the public. I work in a small town garage, turning a wrench on what ever comes through the door. No one that I deal with is even in a good mood or happy to be there. Every chance I get I head into the mountains, just to get the hell...
