    Golden Eagles Are My Favorite

    Hawks Rule!

Came out the back door today and startled a hawk from our bird bath only 20 feet from the door. I very rare visitor to the water, but it's been so dry here, I can understand. Last week I took the dog for a walk across the road and startled a nesting pair of hawks who watched us...

I went for a short hike today at a nearby park where there is a lake. I saw 2 Osprey, it was so cool. I have never seen Osprey there before. They were hunting and riding the wind and stuff. One of them vocalized. It was a thrill for me!

    I Love Owls

I love owls, especially barn owls. I also love turkey vultures. the most beautiful and biggest flying bird I have ever seen has got to be the bald eagle. they are just so regal.

    Feathered Friends

From hawks to owls to eagles to turkey vultures, I'm fascinated! There used to be a Bird Sanctuary nearby a former residence of mine, and I visited this place as often as possible. The sanctuary keepers mostly took in birds that had been struck by cars while feeding alongside...

    Great Horned At Dusk

There is a small loop at the end of our neighborhood that is designated as "phase two" of the development when the day arrives that there is a demand for more housing.  I took the dog for a quick walk through this tangled, sandy area at twilight, swatting away...

    Double Whammy

Last Sunday I was hiking along my favorite ridge trail when all of a sudden an osprey came in sight. It was cruising along the Lake Michigan shoreline at the exact altitude as the trail I was on, and I got a nice long look at him. Just as he flew out of sight, I began to wonder...
