## Having A Hard Time With Calculus Got Me Where I Am Today

My first year at IIT I was really not ready to be thrown into the pool as I was. My Calculus I was using Menger's notation rather than the standard notation. I had enough trouble understanding Calcculus I (got a C) that when Calculus II came along and my class used standard...

## I needed to score a 90 on my final in order to

pass the class with a B. I got a 90 and my final grade is an 79.8 which rounds up to 80 aka B FOR CALCULUS II CLASS. Calculus 3 I'll deal with you come January...oh and I'll be taking Linear Algebra too. I might just die.

## I Deal With Calculus Everyday

I love Calculus and I'm lucky I have to deal with it everyday. I'm a Calculus teacher. Of all the math subjects I'm teaching, this is my favorite. I like to discuss its rules to the students and poses a great challenge to them. Last school year, I spent most of my preparation...

## Weierstrass Rules

I have a passing interest in 19th century intellectual developments. Some now rejected through the passage of time. Others standouts which will live forever. For a man of my type, the great high points of 19th century science are: Darwin & The Origin of Species; Faraday...

## Stretches & Shrinks

No, I have not taken up aerobics, nor have I gone into therapy. But I have made a young person's discovery at an old fart's age and stage, and it's making me feel like a youngster at the campus refec after a first year tutorial, all over again. I am as excited as a child at xmas...

## I Love Calculus Too!

All my life, I've had trouble making sense of a crazy world. Calculus, and other forms of math have always defined who I am as a person. From the time I was very small, I have always been somewhat gifted at math, and math is how I can help give back to the world...
