    Stirring The Senses

A good campfire has something for all of your senses to revel in: the heat, the beauty of the flames, the sound of popping/crackling wood, the smell of wood and fire. Taste.... now that is another story. I can not in good faith recommend licking a burning log, but... a campfire...

I love campfires with my friends. Sometimes when we have free time between classes at school, we go to some place where no one comes and we make a fire there. In the middle of the day, yeah. It doesn't spoil the fun though. The hardest part is probably getting the fire to...

I Know My Other Story Isnt What You Were Wanting To Here, But I Have Happier Stories

My goal is to RV full time, I decided this recently when I realized how much I really love being in nature.  The campfire (controlled) makes me more excited than anyother aspect of the planned full time experience.  There is nothing to compare to staring into a fire, as...

By The Glow And Warmth Of The Fire

My family used to camp at the mouth of the Klamath River during the summer and fish. Our campfire seemed to draw family and strangers who became family every night. Listening to tales of fishing trips past and present, and the one that got away, became a way of life. The fire...

    Story Time

There is always a story to be told by the light of the dancing flames. I love being under the stars and relaxing by an inviting campfire, roasting some marshmallows, yummy!

Will be going for a 2 day walk soon,

we're going from my town to a lake with woodland around it. We'll get there and set up a camp, have a fire and cook ration packs over it, then fall asleep around it next to the lake. Can't wait :)

Sitting Around a Campfire Is the Absolute Best...

you can really get to know people around a campfire.  no one's gonna pretend to be what they're not.  they can be just people - that's good enough. i've been sitting around campfires for years (since '90), with no real plans to stop anytime soon.  usually (99.9...

    Extremely Gratifying

My wife and I love to relax by a fire in our back yard.ย  Alright, so it's not really a "camp" fire.ย  But we still enjoy it.ย  What is even more enjoyable is watching what we are burning go up in flames.ย  I particularly love watching the small burning embers ride the heat wave...

The Warmth, the Atmosphere, the Friends

I love a campfire.  Typically once a week during good weather, my friends and I will usually have a fire, some conversation, and a few beers.  Of course we could do this without a fire, but just sitting around a nice warm crackling fire, enjoying the time, your friends...

A long time ago, I learned the virtue of being

able to light a campfire with a single match. Try not to use branches or litter from the ground. Find readily combustible tinder. Construct the initial fire stack to enhance air flow and combustion. Once things are crackling, take care not to add material too quickly. Finally...

    The Peace Of A Campfire

There is just something very relaxing about a good campfire. I love the smell and the crackling.  I love sitting outside surrounded by nature. There are some tame chipmunks that come for peanuts and even climb into my hand.

    By the Flickering Firelight

I guess I never learned to appreciate a nice fire until later in life.  Most of my first experiences with campfires was at parties, and the fire wasn't really the main attraction. But then, years later, I found out what I had been missing all that time.  To just sit...

    I love a nice campfire.

Sitting by it with pleasant company, watching the fire crackle and illuminate in beautiful colors. And what would S'Mores be without a good campfire? I love being with someone special near a warm campfire. Making love outside by a fire is nice!

30 Year Old Men, Exorcism, And Smores

Two weekends ago I stayed up to roasting smores and talking with my best friend and my sister until 12:00PM. It was really cold, so we were practically IN the fire. Unfortunately, we got giant obese marshmallows and I apparently don't know how to eat them "properly"... I got...
