    An Amazing Man

I did not grow up watching Chaplin's movies. I barely knew much of such grand comic actor. Recently I found on Youtube something labeled "the greatest speech ever". So one day, I clicked on it and it was a speech delivery made by Chaplin on the movie The Great Dictator. Such...

    “I have forgiven mistakes

that were indeed almost unforgivable. I’ve tried to replace people who were irreplaceable and tried to forget those who were unforgettable. I’ve acted on impulse, have been disappointed by people when I thought that this could never be possible. But I have also disappointed...

    So Much Fun To Watch.

His movies, especially his short ones, are so much fun to watch.  I find he has such universal appeal.  They were often about money and women.  Two things that will never go out of style!

    He Was a Genius

I've loved Charlie Chaplin all my life. I was probably 3 years old when I saw the first movies and he got my heart from that very first moment. Decades have passed, but my love for him hasn't changed, only grown deeper. I've seen all of his major movies more than once and I would...

    A Blerb.

I'm not a very poetic writer, however, I want to connect with others who share the same love for this man as I do. Charlie Chaplin has made me feel so many different emotions it's hard to even put into words. His silliness makes me laugh and he takes me away into a worry free...

Charlie Chaplin In "The Gold Rush"

I was about seven when i first heard of the famous silent movie tramp in his black bowler hat and loose black suit coat and baggy pants and i thought he was goofy but ,also, quite likeable at the same time because he kept getting himself into all kinds of awkward and nutty...

    It's Very Hard

It's very hard not to love CC.  He's not only an icon, he's also an extremely sensitive actor and one of the few that deserve to be called a genius.Charly, Charlot if you want, forever!

    The Greatest Speech

"I’m sorry, but I don’t want to be an emperor. That’s not my business. I don’t want to rule or conquer anyone. I should like to help everyone if possible- jewish, Gentile, black men, white… We all want to help one another. Human beings are like that. We want to live by...

My New Novel About Charlie Chaplin Is Enjoyed by Fans Of Charlie, And People Who Just Like Old Movies And Old Hollywood.

Years ago I was on the Chaplin Stage, in Hollywood, when I had an idea for a book. It took several years to write, but I'm happy to say it was published earlier this year. It's a novel, called "Shadow and Substance: My Time with Charlie Chaplin." It takes place in Hollywood today...

The Greatest Celebrity Of All Time.

First pivotal star that evolved from silent films and being the lowly tramp to becoming Great Dictator Hynkel with a doppelganger barber as the other 50% of the movie.   The Great Dictator wasn't one of a few small steps into audio.  Brief history lesson:  Silent films...

    Clever Man!

"Nothing is permanent in this wicked world. Not even our troubles." ~ Charles Chaplin   I am for people. I can't help it.  Charlie Chaplin  We think too much and feel too little.  Charlie Chaplin  We might as well die as to go on living like this.  Charlie...

    Do They Compare?

Last night I watched the first 2 hrs of Americam Masters on PBS featuring woody Allen. Some compare him with Charlie Chaplin. They both have excellent timing. but I dont think they compare. Both are unique . Other than that, I dont see grounds for comparison. but maybe I...

    "We have developed speed,

but we have shut ourselves in. Machinery that gives abundance has left us in want. Our knowledge has made us cynical; our cleverness, hard and unkind. We think too much and feel too little. More than machinery, we need humanity. More than cleverness, we need kindness and...
