    Let's Really Talk.....

I so do love a great debate/discussion.  Unfortunately, it seems that people are either too busy to really sit down and talk.   It also seems that in this day of "multitasking, even if you can sit down with another person for an hour or so, they can't seem to...

Though Sometimes I Think I'm Shallow

Sometimes I want to discuss but feel overwhelmed and at a loss for the right words. You know, its like what do you see in a work of art, beauty, symbolism, anger, compassion, joy, confussion, clarity, and so much more that words can't express. Same with deep discussion.

    Family Members - memoire

I am blessed by having had beautiful grandparents. I loved all and close to all four grandparents. Although both my parents went to the top notch college in their country, really hard to get in, they dropped out after having me. And I barely graduated a local community college...

Save the Small Talk For the Grocery Clerk

I would rather have meaningful conversations than to talk about the weather but then again, there are times when the weather is all that's really important to talk about.  Just look at Hurricane Katrina, the fires in Cali and the ice storms of the Midwest.

Small Talk Is Not My Forte

In fact I feel very uncomfortable being in a room with someone I don't know and be expected to make polite small talk. I've always thought the most successful sales people were the ones who were best at small talk. One reason I never had any interest in any type of sales job. I...

    Some Meat On Their Bones...

I really enjoy being with a group of people who all understand what it means to "go down the rabbit hole." If you saw the movie "What the Bleep?!?" you'll know what that means... short version, I enjoy exploring the limits of knowledge. I enjoy talking about...

    My Favorite First Date

I think the best "first date" experiences I have had, involved sitting together and talking. I mean really talking and sharing, not chatting or making small talk.Sitting at a coffee shop and talking has worked well for me. I think you can get a real sense of a person when you sit...

Much of the Reason I Reside Here So Much

I like to explore ideas, be challenged, I have the freedom to do that here, enter deep conversations whereas I tend to be reserved and somewhat more quiet in my day to day life.  I often shock myself with the amount of words I use here and the ideas contained within them...

    I Remember....

when places like Yahoo were for something other than being asked what the color of my panties were.... when I could play 20 questions with a perfect stranger and learn more about them in one night than many people I knew for a lifetime at the office, church, or other meeting...

    Usually Intoxicated

I find that I have the best and deepest conversations when people are drunk. Yes, there is the fact that their english is , for lack of a better word, dumbed down but their tongues are loosened as well. I find people are more likely to express their true opinions when...
