I Love Gardening

....so much that I've created a group on

Facebook to share seeds, plants and cuttings with my community. It's not something I've been able to do much since I've been ill. I curse the weeds. They tarnish the beauty of my flowers.

When I first got my house I thought gardening

was pointless. As I began to plant more things however I grew to love what my plants gave me and I took pride in the long hard hours it took too plant them and now I love each little thing I put in the ground because I put time and effort into making it look nice and into...

    Yes I Do

I get so excited watching the tiny leaves appear from the ground.  I sometimes just sit out in the garden watching the many flowers and vegetables growing.

Ispent a couple hours in the sideyard pulling

weeds and mulching. There are few things as satisfying as playing in the dirt, or harvesting.Herein is a photo of the _harvest_ from the chicken garden, I did not get a picture of the tomatoes nor the squash...damn.

I love having my own little garden,

my very own little patch of land. To just be able to spend time out there or getting my hands messy working on something can be so relaxing.. sometimes it really doesn't take much to make a space look loved & cared for. It reminds me how amazing nature really is! :)

    When The Rains Came

The rains wiped out my tomato plants and yeah I admit it, I cried... then I saw my herbs were fine and even my jalapenos and I celebrated... My tomatoes are recovering nicely. So I feel like I over reacted a little....

    The Spring flowers are blooming.

Shades of orange, yellow, red, white, purple, and pink dance in the warm breeze carrying fragrances of jasmine and lilac indoors. I love feeling the soil in my hands. I set each plant in place with care. I've raised most of them from seed. Others were cut from plants and...

    Seed Saver

One of my biggest, simplest delights in life is collecting seeds. I like to collect variants of seeds wherever I go. I wish I still had my Joshua Tree seeds from last year - I could have planted Joshua Trees, because it's a high desert! But I love tree seeds. I want to plant...

there is something about the smell of garden/field soil being tilled. So earthy,(pun intended), so almost dirty, (another) yet wholesome. If it weren't for dirt we wouldn't eat.  A seed is planted in dirt;  sunshine and water complete the process. Removing unwanted growth...

    Working in a large garden,

watching children pick a fruit or veg, is awesome. Not junk food, and they eat it right there. To teach them about the good and bad bugs. Have them watch a honey bee, on a flower, teach them how to plant, and water. This is so important, to get them interested in the the garden...
