    Watching Them Grow

I used to have the time to do this. Not anymore. I really enjoyed trimming the stems, spent leaves or blossoms and tending to the care of plants. I used to grow Basil, Tomatoes and a variety of flowers. The Basil was my favorite because it took very little time vs the other...

    Working in a large garden,

watching children pick a fruit or veg, is awesome. Not junk food, and they eat it right there. To teach them about the good and bad bugs. Have them watch a honey bee, on a flower, teach them how to plant, and water. This is so important, to get them interested in the the garden...

I'd love to have a big yard

or nursery where I can grow all of my hibiscus plants. I cross breed them to create new varieties but I don't have energy space to grow all of the hundreds of seeds I've gotten.

    The Spring flowers are blooming.

Shades of orange, yellow, red, white, purple, and pink dance in the warm breeze carrying fragrances of jasmine and lilac indoors. I love feeling the soil in my hands. I set each plant in place with care. I've raised most of them from seed. Others were cut from plants and...

I love having my own little garden,

my very own little patch of land. To just be able to spend time out there or getting my hands messy working on something can be so relaxing.. sometimes it really doesn't take much to make a space look loved & cared for. It reminds me how amazing nature really is! :)

    And The Food It Produces

For lunch today I'm eating a plate full of veggies right out of my garden. Everything on my plate was still growing in the garden less than an hour ago and it's all organically grown and has the nutrition processed and grocery store foods can't hope to have. Everything I've added...

Ranting Because I've Done It Again

It is spring so I get out the box of seeds I saved from last year and all the packets I threw in since. I realize I would have to get rid of every bit of grass in my yard if I were to put them all out! Every year I get way too many seeds and end up giving them away. Every year I...

One of my biggest, simplest delights in life is collecting seeds. I like to collect variants of seeds wherever I go. I wish I still had my Joshua Tree seeds from last year - I could have planted Joshua Trees, because it's a high desert! But I love tree seeds. I want to plant...

    Title Goes Here About Gardening

Gardening for me is more than simply growing things.  It's one of the links I have to my past and to my mother.  She had some of the most amazing gardens I can even think of.  They may not have been arranged perfecty, or even arranged much at all.  But they...

It's soothing for me to plan, plant and tend my little patch of this earth, then watch lovely little plants grow. Everything is looking amazing this year so far ☺️ going to have salsa fixings, apples, grapes (juice & wine), berries, potatoes, onions and zucchini for days!!

there is something about the smell of garden/field soil being tilled. So earthy,(pun intended), so almost dirty, (another) yet wholesome. If it weren't for dirt we wouldn't eat.  A seed is planted in dirt;  sunshine and water complete the process. Removing unwanted growth...

I am currently growing Goji berries and have no problem germinating them. However, once I move them over to the soil, they tend to die within 3~4 days. I keep them by the window side, so they have plenty of sunlight. I try to keep the soil moist too. I do not sure exactly how...
