    I Learned to Love E-mail

But its just not the same as snail mail.  There's something about sitting down and handwriting a letter- and knowing you are going to get a response.  Waiting for the mailman everyday- having that paper in your hand... It's just awesome.   Most of my...

I love the idea of writing to someone

and recieving responses in the mail. It may be more tedious than texting, but largely worthwhile.

I love getting mail so I try to look on the bright side of friends moving away to make them into my penpals! I have really awesome stationery - some with cupcakes, some with goldfish, some with cartoon squid. I also just bought 70's catalogue men postcards (hilarious hair and...

    Whats' Up With This?

I don't know exactly when this started....but before the day of computers, ect., it was regular post office mail, and that still is a part of it, even so called "junk mail"...I open each and every one, can barely get home at end of day to get the mail, get angry if...

And by mail I don't mean bills

or credit card offers. I love getting unexpected cards, letters, postcards, etc. Not for any special occasion....just bc someone wanted to let me know that they were thinking of me.

There's Just Something Lovely About Mail

I'm a 23 year old living in Downtown Portland, and working at a coffee shop. I have close friends, but I live far away from my family and old friends. I love getting a piece of paper in the mail, filled with handwritten love. The can be filled with secrets, stories, memories, and...

    Catalogs Mostly

I shared this in a comment, but I figured I would write my own story.  I love to get catalogs in the mail.  I almost never buy anything from them, but I love to look.  It is like window shopping from your couch.  I also love to get magazines, but I can't...

That's Why I Keep Checking The Mailbox

From the moment I saw my name on the envelope, I would be so excited to see who the sender is, and quickly open the letter. Definitely it is sweeter to receive a real paper and handwriting rather than email.

Mail Is Asexual. Male Is Specific.

The fact that we still consider ourselves Male or Female means we haven't gotten to the YouMe way of describing ourselves. Females are not Males with an Fe in front of the word. She is not a He with an S in front of it. We have no way of allowing ourselves to be us until we can...

Some Letters I Will Never Throw Away...

Even though we have hit the age of the internet and e-mail and online chat, I still love looking in the mail box and seeing a letter or card for me - not a sales ad, not a credit card offer, not a political mailer and definitely not a bill - but something address in HANDWRITING...

    Its Exciting

I love getting mail though I don't get any except for on my birthday. There's something about the thought.. Some one remembering or thinking about you and taking the time out of their day to write a letter for you, the feeling's great. It simply makes me feel grateful and nice.

    Don't Get Me Wrong...

E-mail is all fair and good, but there's just some magic in getting a letter through the post. It's got it's own personal touch to it. It seems more sentimental. Unfortunately, I don't get many letters now, but I still have the letters my friends have sent me in the past, and...

I used to have a lot of pen pals

when I was younger...now I have none. Part of that is my fault...I think I just too lazy.:( It sucks not getting any "real" mail anymore. Does anyone still actually WRITE and MAIL letters anymore? I feel it's a lost art.

    Gone, All Gone

My friend, Margie, and I used to write each other several times a week. Always long letters, handwritten. Haven't gotten one in years. I will send cards to a few cousins, often making cards at the copy shop from old family photos. I get an immediate response-via email...
