Rest In Peace- More Than a Slogan

There is nae a place tha I feel more at peace than in a Graveyard. There are times I feel the spirits o those tha hae gone to the Otherworld, and it is a secure feeling, for there is little more than a bag of flesh and bone that seperates me fra them. Dinnae laugh tis the same...

    Creepy But Interesting

I just like to look at the dates on headstones. I try and imagine what they could have died from especially if they had a short life. It's so interesting but you are walking on dead human bodies which makes kinda "ooooweeeeooo." lol I also find graveyards strangely...

    Peaceful Resting Place

A graveyard is not a bad place. It's a place of rest. Peaceful. Quiet. Serene. I don't know why people are afraid of them. There only scary in your horror movie imagination. The dead can't hurt you. It's the live ones you wanna watch out for.

    A Visit To One Today

I went to a graveyard today. To see my sister there. The very atmosphere of that place is calming. We bought rose petals and rose water from the florist there... these are typical items available there. And incense sticks too.  But we didn't buy it. We went there to her...

    Meet Me In the Graveyard

I love graveyards. There is something so peaceful about walking around in them and reading headstones. Oddly enough, I love doing it especially at dusk or at night. I scared the living crap out of my last boyfriend because he lived in a town where I had ancestors buried and the...

    Graveyards are such relaxing places

for me. I love to hangout at graveyards alone and just be one with myself. Instead of looking at graveyards as mournful places, I see them as restful and spiritual places. Honestly, it feels like graveyards are safest place to be for me. - LibraAndAries

    Graveyards Overseas

Paris has a huge downtown cemetary, many famous people. In Naples Italy, the largest cemetary at Capodichino is broken into several separate sections as well as many different buildings, masoleums, and crypts. Caruso's tomb is there. Outside Cairo Egypt is the city of the dead...

They are beautiful and ethereal. They alow you to think and walk on your own. The most amazing ones I've been to have been the war graveyards in Belgium. They poigant and magical, especially when we went to the one which held people from our own little town.

Today was a sunny day & about 80 in S.

    C. I went to Cheraw & walked around an old graveyard. The church was built in 1770 & the oldest graves are from that time. The church was used as a hospital by American & British troops & then by Confederate & Union troops. A lot of history there for sure. I was alone there...

    I'm Strange Like That

I can walk through a graveyard and just feel all kinds of empathy and compassion for people I have never met. It's kind of a familiar place to me.

    The Older the Better......

    A Glimpse.

I have always adored walking through graveyards. Especially very old ones. I have a strange fascination with epitaphs and the really ornate tombstones. Its almost as if someone's entire existance gets summed up in a small arrangement of words...left there for everyone to see. To...

    They're Calming.

I don't know why, but I feel so at ease in a graveyard. Thinking back now, but it seems there was a graveyard behind, next to or just across the road from all the schools I've been to... Maybe that's why I'm so comfortable in them... I've been so close to them all my life...

    Twisted Cemetary

I have done photodocumentation of many places where the dead are laid to rest. Some of my favorite photos were taken at Angel Ridge cemetary right after it was hit by a twister....there were headstones flung around and trees down.
