6/12/14 I love Great movies::: to bad there

aren't any being made lately. It may be that because I am a senior citizen that I just don't get it. There are some good movies but how can you see what is going on? Everything appears to be filmed in the dark or in shadows. Maybe it's me but if I come home to a dark house, and...

Jeremy Irons, Anthony Andrews And Brideshead Revisited....

Here I present two of the most deliciously wonderful video clips in all of tv-mini series history. I watch them at least once every 6-months, just to be certain that I am, in fact, still alive. I do hope that you see in them, as I do, an unreserved love of that singularly...

I just saw Fast and the Furious.

I found it to be one of the BETTER movies in the franchise. I HOPE they leave the series the way it is and NEVER make another movie. Because the way it ended was a PERFECT ending for the or any franchise! It also seemed to have a lot more story behind it too. Which also made...

The ending of Erich Von Stroheim's Greed

silent masterpiece, from 1924. A glorious depiction of human nature. Two guys in Death Valley desert, with no water, bound to die, still fighting, but one of them still keeps a flame of goodness to set his bird free and give him a chance to survive.

One of the most powerful movie scenes

I’m familiar with is in Sergio Leone’s epic Western, Once Upon a Time in the West (1968). In this scene, which occurs toward the end of the film, two of the main characters face each other in a duel. One of the characters is a thoroughly evil man named Frank, with...

    From Groundhog's Day

There are tons of great scenes in the movie. The movie challenges the viewer on such a deep philosophical and theological level. What would YOU do if your actions had no consequences? It's such a sneaky smart film. It makes us laugh but it makes us think as well. One of my...

    Shawshank Redemption

One of my favorite scenes in Shawshank (which was filmed just 20 minutes from my hometown) is the one where Andy begins to listen to Mozart and broadcasts the music to the entire prison. It's a beautiful moment and reminds the audience that Andy has some spirit left in him.

Ned Beatty's speech in Network (1976) about

how corporations rule the world, not states, is not only one of the most powerful speeches in cinema over, but also astonishingly prophetic. This film, with its depiction about how media create a parallel reality, and who really controls them, should be showed in all schools.
