I Love Handwritten Letters

Personal Stories, Advice, and Support 4,096 People

My Niece gave me a handwritten letter

for my birthday which kinda sent me in a "you are appreciated" mood that I have to post it... “To save a life, is to give back a life. What you did for us is inspiring, I know I’ll never say it enough to you. But “I love you.” You and M are my heroes. But I know if...

I really do! Is there anything more special

than seeing a hand addressed envelope in your letter box? Opening it to see pages of beautiful handwriting. Knowing that you mean enough to the sender that they took their time to sit down with pen in hand to get in touch … Can't remember the last time I received a...

To me hand written letters mean you have the

time to write whatever you need to write down. Hand written letters is beautiful and super meaningful. I prefer a hand written letter then to send an email, but now, people write emails, and letters take time to receive and no one wants that. I miss the olden days.

I just love them. Written with feelings,

emotion. And the person who wrote one took the time to make it all awesome and his own so you could read it. I want a letter too.

    Everything these done is online

and it's so frustrating because it's not the same. I feel like hand written letters are more personal and meaningful. There is more to them. Whilst things online can be copied and paste or I don't know. It's just as awesome as handwritten letters.

My Dear Friend... It's been a while

since I've written a letter to whom this could be intended. Been thinking how nice it is when someone does not forget about you. It is those memories or wannabe memories that play out in one's mind...how does one begin to even describe that which only the heart can and wants to...

When I was in college my Nana,

who I was very close to, literally wrote to me every single day while I was gone--be it a lengthy letter or a little note attached to a $5 bill, I always had at least one piece of mail during the week. Sundays were always a little sad since there was no mail, but it was the day...

    It's better really, like I don't

even know how to explain it. Letters are better when handwritten, sure they may not ALWAYS look the best. But typing just isn't the same. A handwritten letter means more I think.

To take the time to sit down and write a letter is not something I have done lately. To wait in anticipation of receiving a letter from someone, do any of us have the patience anymore? Wondering when the mail man will arrive. Tearing open that letter to see what's inside. Did...
