I don't think it's that big of a deal really. Wether he is or not it's not that important. I always thought when he had so much on his plate, he just didn't have the time or devotion for a love life. So It does explain a few things, and adds a little to all the other revelations about him and Grindewald in book seven. But I have to admit in a joking way I am seeing Nicholas Flamel a little differently now. lol His work in "Alchemy" with Dumbledore. Right....

I think it's cool...realistically, with all those characters, you're statistically going to have a few that are not straight.  And it's great that JKR showed that gay people can be all the things that straight people can be - wise, caring, and genuinely good. I mean, the majority of us know that already, but there is still a lot of prejudice to be broken down.  So I think Dumbledore was a good choice, as he is a very much loved character.
