I Love "Hercule Poirot"

Personal Stories, Advice, and Support 33 People

    I love reading Agatha Christie,

and I have loved all the different versions of Poirot on the screen, but David Suchet is unparalleled, just like Joan Hickson who is the only true Miss Marple (although Margaret Rutherford deserves an honourable mention) :)

    Love Comes Unexpected

Hercule Poirot is very deep in my heart. I began to love him after reading third girl (I don't know why actually then but... Love comes unexpected) and just to "be" with him or at least as close as I could get I started to read every book which he appears in. I'm through the...

    I Love Agatha Christie

from the time I was a little child I would stay up late and watch her movies and read the odd book but I feel the movies gave the stories a better feel anyway... I have seen about all her movies and the old black n white ones also... I love them so much and the era of dress and...

    The Little Grey Cells!

Poirot is somewhat of an idol of mine. Obviously he is fictional and David Suchet (my favourite) is an actor but Poirot is a character with admirable qualities. Often I read in the novels of his love of "order and method" and see his way of thinking and I try...

    Simply Nothing More Entertaining

I had an Indian friend who came from an upper caste background, and we bonded over what amounted to an addiction to H. Poirot's films. We were both PhD students at the time, and we needed some kind of diversion once in a while. That diversion spilled over into hours spent...

    David Suchet

When I think of Poirot I think of David Suchet.  To me he makes the character fun and yet serious.  Nothing like Sherlock Holmes yet the deductions are the same.  I love following him along and trying to think of what he will come up with.

    Attraction of Little Grey Cells

I've loved Hercule Poirot as long as I can remember. I must have been about 12 years old when I saw Poirot for the first time on television... and I've been hooked ever since that. I guess that's where my attraction to smart men is coming from, as Hercule was always so brilliant...
