English Leather ! When I was a teenager, I had a friend who always wore too cologne, you could always smell him before he entered a room. When I told him that he could go easier he replied with that classic "I wear English Leather or nothing at all" line. I answered that he...

My husband and I started dating around

Christmas of 2003. That Christmas I had gotten Victoria's Secret lotion in "Decadent Desire" scent and I wore it all the time in those early days. Smelling that scent would bring me back to our puppy love days. The scent was discontinued so for the next few years, I would buy...

A truck drove past me this morning

and the exhaust smell flashed me back to our jr high bus lot in the winter. We'd skate across the icy mix of diesel and snow in our boots, secretly hoping we'd *accidentally* miss the bus and get to hang longer with other pre-pubescent teens. Sometimes we'd forge notes and ride...

    Our sense of smell is

so powerful. I love the smell of cotton candy. It takes me back to happier times when my life was as simple as those puffs of spun sugar.

I like when I smell a rusty fence

or old books or a cafeteria and it brings me back to elementary school or summer vacation. Or someone where's perfume and you flashback to Hugh school. Memories you wouldn't remember except by that scent you just smelled.

I love when people have the same scent all year

around or all their life. I be thinking how do they do that? Sometimes they stop making the same products. It's say you always used bath and body works coconut perfume. In 2016 they might stop making them. I find it cool when people have he same smell to them for years

Ever since I was little my sense of smell has

been especially keen. I can smell when a certain food is cooking from the garage or when a person was just in the room and what they smell like. It's to the point where people will come to smell I like.

When I was little, I loved studying ancient

Egypt and mummies and the royalty. And one time I was studying cleopatra. I read she loved to bathe in milk and back then she seemed like the epitome of grace and beauty. It was a bonus that she was from Africa. That was before I realized that it had been taken over by another...

My sense of smell, and therefore taste,

is incredibly sharp, and parts of my brain memory are stimulated by scents from my past. A month ago, I was walking the aisles of a local grocer's trailing a woman (not on purpose) in her mid sixties, I'd say. She stopped suddenly by a shelf, and I passed her by quite closely...

    I was fascinated to learn

that our sense of smell bypasses our brain's logic center, and sends information directly to our long-term memory for "intake processing." Psychologists believe this is why the sense of smell can trigger a full-body memory in ways that no other sense can.
