I've always loved his music and his words.
Personally, I don't find him depressing although I know a lot of people apparently do.
His music is among some of my all-time favourites, his early stuff and later material. I remember seeing a wonderful documentary about...

I started early on Cohen to. I think my favourite poet/singer of all time. I listen to his songs very often. And no I don't think they are depressing at all. Often I find them enlivening and encouraging and exciting.
And that's the truth, the naked truth.
Though this isn't Cohen, I've always loved this song and its imagery, especially the reference to Cohen.
