london The Capital of the world,

only rival New York. Incorporates the best of both Europe and America. Unlike in New York the Tube stations are Clearly signposted. Unlike New York the streets are all squigley and it is really really old. South of the river Thames is a mythical land that those on the North talk...

    A Recent Discovery ...

I know London reasonably well having lived and worked there for most of my life. But I always manage to discover something new. This week I am working in an area of London called Clerkenwell.  Like all areas of London it has its own fascinating history.  But right by the place...

My first visit to London was

after I finished a deployment to Afghanistan. I think it's a beautiful city, and walking the streets gave me the sense of having been there before in a past life. If you believe in that sort of thing. I loved it so much that I came back for a second time today. Looking forward...

    London≪3

It's my home town, born here, raised here and currently still living here. Although it does have its benefits and it's drawbacks, I couldn't see myself living anywhere else at this point in my life and I generally do believe that London is a great city.

The Man In The Saville Row Suit

Growing up in Marylebone Central London in the sixties was an exciting time. Even at less than 8 years old my mates and I were complete and utter terrors and ruffians. Mini skirts were the order of the day and we would slide along the ground to look up skirts to see what colour...

    I love London, so much.

But it's starting to turn into a love-hate thing now. I don't see myself leaving this city any time in the near future. But sometimes, this city can make me feel quite claustrophobic. The population is so great and so dense that I feel like just another number. There are so many...

I used to live in London.

It doesn't matter if you're broke as long as you have an Oyster card everything is good. I would sometimes go to every pret a manger shop to ask for free latte and they always give me one for free.

    Some Thoughts About London

London has so many faces. When flying into London I love to sit on the right hand side and look outside the window. When flying in from the West you can see the best of all in a few minutes. I was flying in so many times, so I have learned to figure out where is what. Very...

    London Dungeons: Sweeney Todd

You walk into a room with a row of hairdressing chairs, everyone takes a seat and you notice blood on the floor. In walks a woman shouting 'Sweeney, I've got 'em here for you!' and the lights suddenly go out! It's so pitch black you can't even see your hand in front of your face...

I love it. I keep discovering new things

and strolling around to get lost is so exciting. There is always something to smile at. People may appear to be not too friendly but just walk around and you will be surprised. The smaller shops have nice people and some passers by are also willing to help.

So this time around I did not fall in love with

London, rather I fell in love IN it. Horrid business in the end, a one sided one way ticket to nowhere that it was. Nevertheless, for a few days the city was more beautiful than I can ever recall. Thank you, London, for some bittersweet memories.

    The Unexpected Welcome Home
