I Love Nature and Wildlife Photography

    Contest

I once entered a photography contest at our local wildlife organization. The photos of course had to be of nature and/or wildlife. I had decided that I would take a picture of something that no one else had. Of course most pictures were of everyday ordinary flowers or wildlife...

    Solid Tripods Are Worth It

The old adage that there's generally no such thing as a light, stable tripod often still rings true. Excepting for carbon-fibre, light tripods often don't have the ability to capture long exposures without some movement. The downside is that carrying heavy, solid tripods over...

    I wouldn't say that I love it

but I do like it. I'm not a good photographer and I don't even own a real camera but I like to take pictures on my iPhone. When I see a beautiful landscape or a breathtaking view I like to take a picture and will often look at them to gain a sense of peacefulness and calm.

    Wings Of Life

These days I'm mesmerized by a Louie Schwartzberg / Disney YouTube video. It's not really photography but more like slow motion cinematography, but there isn't a category for that here on EP, and this really is about the beauty of nature and wildlife.  I hope you enjoy it as...

I just can't get enough of Louie Schwartzberg's work.   Does anybody else happen to find the vid clip here as moving as I did?

This is one of my favorite places on earth,

the falls at Robert Treman park in Ithaca NY. I took this photo back in early November on one of the last warm days we had. Ithaca is a beautiful area, surrounded by several waterfalls, gorges, hiking trails and is located at the southernmost part of Cayuga Lake. I visit this...

I was out walking my dogs in the woods

and I spotted this very amorous tree. shame his lady friend isn't reciprocating. In the last picture you can see his two 'arms' around her and stretched out behind her.

    Avoid The Crowds- Bird Photography

The kaka is an endangered NZ bush parrot.  There's a lovely population around Puhaka near Martinborough.  While the birds are habituated to people, lots of people also disrupt the birds.  They like to give as good as they get- the sight of a kaka zooming along at just above...

Amongst The Waterfalls Of The Waitakeres

In the chill of the NZ winter, a good day brings a clearness to the air that makes waterfall photography enrapturing. It's just a matter of dressing up warm, packing the right camera gear, and being prepared to hike the distances. "Three Steps"

    Don't Forget The Water
