    An Old School Building

A friend just moved into an apartment in an old brick school building near me.  I have driven by it often and wondered what it was like inside--now I know!  The paint in the hallways is peeling and the lighting is very poor so it seems a bit creepy when you walk into it...

    I love old buildings,

the way how they have been built and their histories. I live myself in an old house. It´s about 500 years old, and since more than 300 generations my family lives there. I am very proud of that and I really LOVE the house of my ancestors!

    I particularly like art deco

but unfortunately where I live most of those buildings have been, or are going to be, demolished. It is such a shame because the buildings of yesteryear have so much character and appeal.

Being British I have grown up around extremely

old buildings and a long, distinguished past. When I holiday or even on my home soil, I tend to always seek out the sites of architectural and archaeological interest rather than the beaches and clubs. Coming from a construction and architecture background as well as having an...

Unfortunately the big old dairy barn on my farm

is too far gone to save. It's a nice three story wooden structure, so I'm taking lots of pictures of it while I still can.

I am an avid collector of wonderfully old

things. I absolutely love visiting old buildings, imagining their original craftsmen, the people who walked through the doors, and all of the history just waiting to be discovered.

    Abandoned Ones Are My Favorite

I think it's just so beautiful to see what houses and buildings can become. I love seeing ivy climbing up walls and just seeing how serene and peaceful everything is with humans no longer in it and bothering it. As for non-abandoned ones, when I was a kid my dad's mom had a huge...

I've always wanted to go into an old abandoned

house and see if maybe I could uncover details about the last owner just to see what kind of life they lived.

Not so much the old building themselves,

although they do hold amazing history that peaks my curiosity. I like to solve the mystery, see the story behind contents of the place on it's own.Wouldn't you like to know what happened here, what the story was in this pic below

My house is approximately 500 years old.

Very often, when I am going through my house I wonder what the house could tell me about all the things what it has seen if it could speak.

I spent much of my childhood living in a sixteenth-century former wool merchant's house. It was timber-framed, built of stone and cob, and the roof was thatched. Although it looked charming and "chocolate-boxy" from the outside, the real charm was in the detail. Each generation...

Theres a certain charm to those cosy looking
