Still have a working Sega Master system

and a mega drive plus an Amiga 1200. Unfortunately the day my old 19" CRT TV dies I think that will be the end of using them... No ports for antiquated technology on new stuff :'( I still LOVE playing Alex The Kid and Megalomania.... If only someone would remake megalomania!

Playing old school video games to me is like

revisiting an old friend... I never did have many friends when I was growing up and quite frankly I had a sad childhood complete with family problems and a drunked father... Sometimes I feel like playing video games are the only happy moments I can remember as a kid... Sonic and...

    I'm An 8-bit Girl

For the longest time I could not play 3-D games on the Xbox 360 because, well, they were beyond the capabilities of my internal graphics card. :-)   I spent so much of my childhood playing 8-bit Nintendo. Later in life I played very little SNES or any other system, so going...

Do You Agree? Here's something I wanted to

share. I went to a store that specialises in classic video games last week and I saw 2 signs hanging from the ceiling that expresses their philosophy on their wares. The store really puts Gamestop to shame because the staff is knowledgeable and are truly passionate about what...

    Chrono Trigger

Who else misses classic JRPG titles from the 16 bit days? I know I do. This is by far, my favorite video game ever. Its fascinating story of time travel creates paradoxes and changes the future by affecting the past. Not to mention, the main villain is essentially a parasite...

Being only 18 I didn't grow up in the era of Sega V Nintendo. I had to find it out for myself by playing old games on my older brothers old consoles.I think the old 8 and 16 bit games are much better than what is being produced today.I do love Sega though. Thanks to Ebay (and...

    Thunder And Lightning!!

As a little girl my father and I would sit down together and play Thunder and Lightning on the regular Nintendo. We kept the game and system for about 12 years. That game was so much fun. As I got older my friends would come over and we would place bets on who could get to the...

Yesterday I downloaded baseball for the NES since I can't be bothered to dig mine out. For the first time in my life I actually won a game. There's something about these old games: On one hand they're so difficult that it drives you mental with frustration but at the same time...

There is something charming about an old game.

Remember Galaxian? That bloody bird thing flapping it's wings! Or Super Mario world? Echo the dolphin? Alex Kidd in miracle world? Hell! I even enjoy a game of Columns!!

    I love old school games,

especially Super Nintendo. Most of the video games I play are either things like Super Metroid, A Link to the Past, DOOM I & II, as well as more modern action RPGs. Video gaming is definitely a hobby of mine!

    Snes Days

I was pretty young in that era, but it's something I do remember.  The games then often had more heart in them I think.  They had to do with less what games do today.  Not to say that some games today aren't good, but you can't mess with the good old days.

were the most challenging and I loved them for it. I wouldn't be half as good a gamer I am today if not for them. May not have developed a love of challenges either. As my favorite gamer reviewer said "when I was a kid games gave you 1 live , and every Bird, Insect, and blade of...
