I Love Old Time Radio Shows

Personal Stories, Advice, and Support 93 People

    A Corny Joke I Heard...

There were a lot of them in old radio comedies... Tonight I heard in one: "I don't want to sleep in the pup tent" "Why not?" "The barking will keep me awake" I knew the joke would involve a dog, but was just so well done that particular way...

I Restore Old Radios And Play Old Shows On Them..

I love everything radio...old time radio...Tubes and wood...the smell of dust burning off a softly glowing tube...a green tuning eye staring at you...the amber glow of tuning dial...the raspy noise of the volume control.. I love radio history and the programming of the 30's 40's...

My local radio station does 4 hours of old radio shows a week. They're right now airing this long program featuring this actress(?) named Talula. She's about the same age (late 50's) of my Last girlfriend and talks in the same deep thick accent she does :-D -obviously- I enjoy...

    Gunsmoke Comment

It's somewhat funny listening to how on the old Gunsmoke episodes that you have this brave Matt Dillon, and then you have this like deputy named "Chester" who almost seems to be there for comic-Relief... Sometimes Chester though really does have to be in the Line of fire though...
