"Don't think. Thinking is the enemy of

creativity. It's self-conscious and anything self-conscious is lousy. You can't try to do things. You simply must do things." ...Ray Bradbury

    I recommend the book,

"Bradbury Speaks; Too Soon from the Cave, Too Fat from the Stars. Essays on the Past, the Future and Everything in Between. In this book Bradbury speaks about writing, science fiction, the people he has known, Paris, Los Angeles and life. Here was a man who never lost his...

I've read so many different authors

but few have had the impact upon me with the same effect of Ray Bradbury. In the past I never cared much for science fiction, unless it was Wells or Verne it never came across well on paper, however Bradbury's stories are excellent. Also short stories were frustrating for me...

    Wrote some of the best

and most entertaining stories about Ireland I've ever read. I highly recommend them.

Bradbury's The Rocket Man is probably one of

the greatest short stories ever. Its last sentence "And, for a long while, the only days we ever went out to walk were the dayswhen it was raining and there was no sun", pronounced by a boy after his father died when his rocket fell in the sun, is a perfect description of how...

I read "Something Wicked this Way Comes"

when I was about 13 years old : just the right age to be truly unnerved when I discovered the secret of the carousel! It really disturbed me, but I still loved the book. The Martian Chronicles and The Illustrated Man, very different from "something wicked", are masterpieces.

    Bradbury Is My Hero.

My favorite book - "Something Wicked This Way Comes". His "October Country" and "From the Dust Returned" are also rather ingenius. My friend is always trying to convince me that Farenheit 451 is the best book Bradbury ever wrote but I just can't...

One of the best stories I have ever read is A

Sound of Thunder, a story of time travel. A company that provides time travel vacations sends a group of big game hunters into the past in order to allow them to kill a dinosaur. Tyrannosaurus Rex of course. There are strict rules, one being you cannot stray from a set path. Of...

Thinking about my favorite Bradbury story,

"The Man." Storyline is that a space expedition makes first contact with an ancient civilization only to find that no one cares because by whatever name he went by on that world Jesus had come back on day before. The ultimate case of bad timing. Great story.
