I Love Running

Personal Stories, Advice, and Support 4,796 People

My first marathon ever was yesterday.

City of Chicago. 40,000 runners. It was such an amazing experience to see close to 1 million people along the course cheering and volunteering for a positive cause. I "high five" hundreds of people along the way. All that positive energy will stay with me for a long time .

I'm not fit. I'm not fast.

I'm overweight. But I love running! Especially until my legs feel numb and can't take it no more. It feels great. When I can't go out for a run, I just use the threadmill at home after midnight for half an hour or so non stop. My body aches so much but it feels so so good...

Ran 10 km in slow pace (53 min) at the beach

resort where we spend vacation. The path was lovely, I enjoyed the forest and the nature and being by myself. I think I run the same route again tomorrow.

This morning was one of "those" mornings.

You know, when your alarm goes off and your bed does it's best to convince you to stay. I snoozed once and really wanted to a second time, but reluctantly got up. There are some mornings I'm more willing to get up, but I don't like early mornings, this was neither, don't like...

Running is the fix all tool

for anything that's negative. Ignore your speed, time, pace, stares from people, and give it your all while running your heart out. You will feel 1 million times better when you're done, and will wonder why you were so upset in the first place :-) .
