Ran my first mile last night.

I look forward to when I can run half a marathon again without feeling as if my heart is going to jump out of my chest. The feeling of freedom is what motivates me. One mile down, many more to go. 🙂

My first marathon ever was yesterday.

City of Chicago. 40,000 runners. It was such an amazing experience to see close to 1 million people along the course cheering and volunteering for a positive cause. I "high five" hundreds of people along the way. All that positive energy will stay with me for a long time .

Ran 4.5 Miles Yesterday Not bad given I had

run next to nothing since grade school. I signed up for a 5k race and a 10 k race in the next couple of months. Given I am 3/4 of the way to 10 k already, I am thinking to do a half marathon by year end. So how did I do it? I reported last year about my success in getting in...

So does anyone know about the affects of a hot

tub after exercise? I recently have been running on a treadmill at a gym recently, and afterward have been cross training in the pool. So sometimes I will hop in the hot tub afterward to warm up before I go out in the snow. The amount of soreness I get the following days is...

My smile increased as I put one foot in front

of the other, it felt surreal but yet awesome at the same time. That one moment I didn't feel so damn bad and I rediscovered the joy I've been missing. Damn I feel so damn happy for once

Earlier in the day, I've completed my first

half marathon of 2016 with a time of 2 hours 33mins & 05secs. A 30mins improvement from the previous half marathon I ran last month. It wasn't an easy feat as I kept it constant of running at a pace of an average of 6mins & 40secs per Km. The half marathon tested my mental...

    My First Beach Run

I'm spending my July 4th weekend near the beach. I woke up real early this morning, just before dawn, and decided to take short drive to the beach near Pine Knoll Shores, NC, parked and went out for my morning run. Sometime last year, I bought a pair of running sandals and...

I run by myself, or with a partner.

Sometimes I run because of my partner. I have an apartment, and a black lab, and sometimes I need to get her out a little bit, even if it is pretty cold outside. She does really well, she's just really excitable I also have a gym membership that I often use. I'm finally...

I've been resting just like I'm suppose to (even

when I don't want to!) and my peroneals feel better today. Still stiff, but no pain. I know I'm not ready to hit the pavement yet, but maybe a little treadmill run? Maybe? Dang, it's suppose to be leg day too. Decisions, decisions. So maybe a walk, not a run, can risk serious...

Thursday, I had a great experience.

I ran. It was cold outside (about 30 degrees or so), and I figured I'd run with my beautiful doggy for a few miles then call it quits after doing just enough to tire her out. I often run outside in the cold for her sake (being cooped in an apartment all day) when I'd rather...

Got to the gym, foam rolled and stretched. Then I saw a girl who I am currently in a step challenge with (it's a Fitbit thing) when I got on the treadmill to walk, my legs took over and I had the best run since my half marathon! (I'm currently working back up my Milage from the...

..! My first half-marathon accomplished at just a little over my target (2hours 3minutes) but the most important thing is: unlike last year, my 1st 10K race, this was completely injury free! I'm ready to go running again tomorrow! How awesome is that? Am I happy...?! YES...

My right calf is pretty sore, it feels like tendinopathy so I'm using RICE, of course. Got my leg up on a chair with an ice pack, my beer and cobb salad and then I'm going to tape it up and I won't run for a few days. I need to go to a running store and get a gait analysis and...

When the mind is garbled, running will allow you to escape. If only temporary, the process can be a wonderful method of therapy. The outcome a stop-gap.

Yes, I love it so much Everyday I try to run.

However, I am the slowest runner on earth. I'm so slow, I get embarrassed when people see me run. So, I pretend to HATE running. During gym when we have to run I groan and tell my friends "ew why this is gross" and etc. And during Water polo practice when we do dry land stuff...
