    Returning To The UK

Hello Everyone. I hope you have all enjoyed the summer holiday with plenty of sailing!  We spent the summer on Gavdos, the southernmost island in Greece.  Once again, it was fantastic! The sails are down and we are about to sleep.  I just wanted to stop and say hello to...

    Sailing Donkey And The Bear

There are a donkey and a bear who are the best of friends. Odd it may be but I swear it just might be true. If you didn't know them as I do you might not think them friends for they spent much of their time insulting one another. The donkey was always laughing. HEE haw. hee HAW...

We couldn’t sleep, both of our minds thinking about leaving Martinique (home of the French bread and cheap wines!). We didn’t trust our engine, even though we were fairly sure the culprit letting salt water in the cylinders had been repaired. It was all going to be under sail...

    FREEDOM

Sailing - every time I go out on the ocean, it's like the first time. There is something mystical and magical about being one with the ocean. It is the only place I have ever found true peace. The wind rushing through my hair, the salt spray on my face, the sun peeking over the...

Only one dolphin came to say hello. Saw a lot of sea birds. Several loons dived around the boat.It will always amaze me, when I hoist the sails and stop the engine. The power of the wind!!!

    A Squall

The air turns suddenly chilly. The water is darker and less peaceful. The sky darkens. My hair whips around my face and neck. Sea spray batters my skin. I quickly adjust.  Jib is furled, Mainsail is reefed.  My pulse quickens as the bow disappears under a jagged crashing wave...

    Sailing is so much more

than sailing to me. It's an escape from everything in the world. It's a place where I can be in the middle of nowhere and think about nothing or everything. The wind. The water. The peace. There's nothing else like it.
