A Love Once New Has Now Grown Cold

For some reason, this song is with me today...I love S&G. So soothing. This song...is just haunting...April come she willWhen streams are ripe and swelled with rain;May, she will stay,Resting in my arms againJune, she´ll change her tune,In restless walks she´ll prowl the night...

I actually have a cd by them. I loved them when I was a major hippy. The songs were fun, relaxing, and they always had some kind of meaning.  They were good to get stoned to.

    Magnificent

Almost twenty years ago, they reunited for a concert that was held at what is now "The Theater" in Madison Square Garden. Lumpy's boss at the time was a very generous man and invited us as his guests. It was so unbelievable as they took us through a time machine starting back...

    The Sound Of Silence

Like many other kids, one of the first things I bought when I had the money was a record player. To those who are younger, that are those waffle irons where you put black discs on and they make sound when a spoon scratches over them and play satanic messages when you run them in...

I'd Rather Be A Hammer Than A Nail.

Everything they've done is wonderful, but particular favourites are El Condor Pasa, Homeward Bound and Mrs Robinson. They are my earliest childhood songs apart from Rolf Harris's Two Little Boys.

    Favourite "Learning"-music

I always listen to music when I learn something. I know.. it's supposed to distract you from it. But it's a little different with me: I can concentrate better when I listen to music, because the music kind of kills all my thoughts. And within a few minutes I won't really hear...

    Like A Poem Poorly Written...

"Like a poem poorly written We are verses out of rhythm, Couplets out of rhyme, In syncopated time Lost in the dangling conversation And the superficial sighs, Are the borders of our lives." (Excerpts from 'The Dangling Conversation' by Simon & Garfunkel) Who would have thought...

Their music is real and very "honest" and comforting in a way. I especially love Sound of Silence. You really do not hear too much of them any more though.

Trying To Remember The Name Of A Song I Heard In The 1960's,..

It was an instrumental song with a funny 1930´s sound, kind of reminds me of the Old Mighty Mouse theme, not the tune, but the musical instrument sounds, a little. This would have been in the late 1960´s maybe early 1970´s? It was played on the radio and I remember hearing it...

    Youngish Fan Here

I've always loved Simon and Garfunkel ever since I was a little kid. I grew up in the 80's and 90's & people always thought I was wierd because I'd rather listen to the "oldies" than anything that was current at the time. I'm 30 now and I still think  that S...

YES YES YES! My mom likes them so I grew up listening to Mrs. Robinson and Cecilia. To me they evoke such emotion... I didn't understand what they meant when I was younger, but I could feel the songs. Now that I'm older, they still evoke the same emotion, if not more. There are...

    I Miss Simon And Garfunkel

Oh why oh why did they have to stop recording together? Why is it when you love something so much, like their music and harmonies, that it has to end? They sang and put into words what my heart was feeling but could not express. I do miss them so much.

    The Boxer

This is probably my favorite song by them, you feel sorry for this poor man who is a bum boxer. It was very well written and Simon & Garfunkel are two of my musical hero's. These two along with Bob Dylan changed music forever.
