Sights And Sounds Of Peace And Joy

It was a chilly Autumn afternoon. We were out in the countryside, walking along a footpath between meadows and forest. At one point my senses narrowed their focus. The light gurgles of a narrow brook meandering along the bushy outgrowth caught me...they were like music to my ears...

That soft, subtle breeze pushes tiny waves up the lake shore to accomodate a slapping sound that soothes the soul. I admire the glare of the water in broad daylight as the shimmering diamonds are eye catching. I enjoy the ripples of the substance as water skiiers and boarders...

I don't get to do this that often, but I love to sit by a lake, a nice pond, or whatever body of water and just sit.  It's quite relaxing and I can just look at the scenery and enjoy the beauty around me.  I can forget about worries and just be.  I wish I could do...

    Childhood Vacations

I like being by the water because most childhood vacations were around water. Growing up we live on a typical street in a typical town were the biggest body of water was the swimming pool. But vacations where different, one week would spend a week on the...

    Water Flows Like Emotions...

There is something I find so tranquil about sitting next to calm water, running my hand through it so I can see the ripples and feel the lovely sensation as it flows through my fingers while also feeling the slight resistance it gives to the palm of my hand. I have found that...

    Water Has No Memory

We used to go to the beach a lot when I was a kid.  I remember helping my dad load up the truck for our weekend trips that usually lasted all weekend.  Sometimes we'd camp on the beach.  Other times we slept on our boat.  Still other times we'd rent a hotel...

There's something about water that helps one meditate and reflect on life in general as well as the future.

Isn't It The Most Inspiring, Relaxing And Enjoyable Time....

Sitting by a nice body of water. My favorite memory right now is the one day I had to sit in Italy and just watch the Mediterranean Ocean for like 6 hours and finally realize that all that time had passed. It goes by in an instant and all that time there to clear my head on...

    There is just something

so calming and reassuring about sitting by the water of an ocean or a gulf or even a really large lake or bay. Just watching the tide roll in and roll out. The fact that people can't pave and build all over it. The thought that generations of people come and go, but the sea...

    There Are Two Reasons

I like wading my feet in the water and play with its coolness....the other reason is, I can't swim. I have a problem learning on how to swim. I did not learn when I was younger because of muscle cramps. So, the instructor gave up on me. Anyone, who wanna teach me?

I love to sit and watch the sunset over the lake at my camp and watch the reflection of the sun on the lake. This is also the time of day where you can catch a few loons swimming by camp with their call echoing out in the distance. Calms me just to think about it now!

Growing up next to the sea

and spending a lot of time out on the waves or lakes/rivers etc. I have always felt at ease by the water. I think after many years of evolution it is hard wired into humans to feel this way. After all water provides a life line to settlements. Drink, trade, commerce, food...

    The Tide

I like sitting by the water for different reasons. Sometimes it's just to view the scenery; Often times it's to feed the ducks, geese, and other "wild" life; but mostly it's because of the tide. I admire and even envy the strength of the tide. It is consistant, steady...
