    My ex never understood

that I needed alone time to reflect and just chill. He wanted to constantly accompany me and although, i love him for it...i also felt caged as if being alone for one or two hours is a weird thing to do.

I have many reasons to be unhappy,

more for which to be happy. I try to be content. I read Helen Keller quote once… “Everything has its wonders, even darkness and silence, and I learn whatever state I may be in, to be content.” I try to emulate her. I like to laugh. I like to see others laugh even more. I...

    Some "Me" Time.

It does not happen too often, but sometimes it's nice just to have time for me. I'm naturally a giver and get pleasure from helping and making people happy. I enjoy company, but just once in a while it's nice to do what I want to do to suit me. To be lost in my own thoughts...

    No One Around

Have you ever wished you had some place to escape to, somewhere no other person knows about? Cherishing solitude as much as I did, it was always difficult for me to live in a family of five people, sharing the room with my sister, having no place of my own. Oftentimes I wished I...

I feel the same way about solitude

as some people feel about the blessing of the church. It’s the light of grace for me. I never close my door behind me without the awareness that I am carrying out an act of mercy toward myself. Being alone makes me feel more relaxed, since there is no sense that anyone is...

    I Discover Myself

Being born an only child I sure had and still have lots of time to myself. Lot of single children whom I know have complained about being lonely. I never felt that way. Perhaps it was because I used all my time in reading lots of books or doing something creative. I remember as a...

The older I get the more introverted I become.

I've been "introverted" since I was a kid but I have been able to be social and even talkative. however I'm finding the want or the need to be around people less and less.

    The Adventures In Singularity

I enjoy keeping to myself, although others say its bad for you. I sometimes ask the question, "Whats the point of trying to socialize with people that are in it for themselves and just want to scratch the surface and take that, and then judge you, for the rest of your life?" I...

    Quiet...awww Yes.

In order for me to read my Bible and to pray, it seems that I have to always get up in the early hours of the morning to do so. My husband puts on the TV the minute he wakes up and I find it so difficult to pray or read. If I had my way, I personally would'nt own a TV. Nothing...

    Me And Solitude

I love solitude, and will always be. When I was younger, the need of company is very important to me. I never had any serious relationship but I do have many friends. My opposite sex (woman) sees me as a cold and stressful person (i think), actually im not, that was me years ago...

I love being alone. By myself.

I don't think there has ever been a time in life where I've been "lonely". I honestly don't need anyone to entertain me. Internet, books, movies...I don't need to 'go out' in order to find entertainment, it finds me. Alone with my imagination is all the adventure I need. This is...

    Sometimes, Sometimes Not...

It's kind of a double-edged sword being alone and enjoying it sometimes. I actually am quite lonely most of the time, having no friends or girlfriend to hang out with and talk to. But there are times when I value my alone time and don't feel lonely at all. Just me, maybe a book...

    First Attempt

After reading some solitude quotes, i bravely stepped out and fearlessly go out by myself. This step is hard and reminds me of times that i am forced to be alone and lonely, now I feel that with solitude I am happily alone with no loneliness. :)

I enjoy my solitude and privacy.

I don't know if I could or would like to be around people all the time. The people I meet and work around at the casino are not very cooperative. Some people do not look to see if others are in front of them. When I finish I look forward to my solitude. Then I can do what I...

    Is It Solitude Or Isolation?

I love spending time alone. This seems to be an ongoing debate in my life. I was living alone with my cats and internet and tv for a long while. I still like to socialize occasionally. I had to move recently and I have been living in a home with a lot of other people for the last...
