Hi, I'm Your Server...what Can I Get You Guys To Drink Today?

I love sweet tea so much that I'm probably drinking it while you're reading this. I even drink it in my sleep. I keep a cup with me almost everynight so that whenever I wake up, I can take a sip. This may have something to do with the fact that I viewed it as an adult drink when...

    "GRITS" and Sweet Tea

Girls Raised In The South and sweet tea no more need to be said. Moving around with my husband while in the military I can say sweet tea is not a staple except in the south. Introducing southern sweet tea to people is a wonderful thing.

    Lesson Learned

How could I claim to be a Southern girl and NOT like sweet tea?Funny thing happened to me, not long after moving here.  Now, where I used to live, restaurant iced tea was always served plain unless otherwise stated.  Very few restaurants offered sweet tea, and most of them were...

    Southern Hospitality

I remember when my son was six and I took him to visit a dear friend in South Carolina. She served us good old southern cooking along with some delicious cold sweet tea. My son drank cup after cup. Upon returning home one day my son asked if I could make some of Aunt Glens...

    Tea For Two?

I like Ceylon tea, brewed in very hot water, just five minutes each cup steeping, poured out over mint leaves and lavender honey. It is a gorgeous pick me up!

Look here, guys, I AM a good ol' southern boy!

It's a prerequisite down here! Fill up a gallon jug with a lots of ice, wrap it in a towel, set it under a bush, and chop that cotton! Down the rows two at a time and come back up the other side just the same, stop and have a nice cool drink every couple of rows. It's how I...

    Its Oh So Delicious

I'm grew up in the south where I basically had a sweet tea IV put in. I love it. Nothing quenches your thirst like a ice cold glass of sweet tea. Recently I moved to the midwest and its been quite a shock. I ask for sweet tea, and they hand me a glass of unsweetened tea and a...

    Love You Grandma

My grandmother was from Alabama.  Sweet tea will forever remind me of her.  From the time I was tiny, I can't remember a time when her refrigerator didn't have a freshly brewed jar (yes, glass jar) of tea.  Anywhere you go down South, there's sweet tea...

Now when I moved to Dallas as a teen i've grown a lot more liberal and lost my accent but the one thing I never give up is my sweet tea. I feel so fortunate to have found a little piece of the forest in the city and sittin outside with my dogs sippin sweet tea breathing in the...

How Did I Live Without It?

In California (where I grew up), there is no such thing as sweet tea.  I'd never even heard of it until I moved.  Now, I wonder how I lived without it.  Well... I know how I lived without it - with Saccharin.  I can't stand trying to stir 10,000 sugar packets...

I Don't Want It Any Other Way

I've learned to NEVER try to buy sweet tea in the north, at least from the northern Virginia/Washington D.C. area and up. It's just a foreign concept up there. You can say "Sweet tea please", but they'll just give you unsweet. It's like the word "sweet" is just ignored or...
