I Love the Books of John Irving

Personal Stories, Advice, and Support 23 People

    I Read "Hotel New Hampshire",

and I knew I loved the way John Irving's mind works.  He has the ability to make me laugh, cry and think.  He points out our hypocracies and small-mindedness; then teaches us how to forgive ourselves for being merely human. I don't know the origin of his...

    The World According to Garp

The World According to Garp was my first John Irving novel.   It gotta say it was pretty fantastic.  There's a lot of books by him that I really enjoyed: The Fourth Hand and Until I Find You are my favorites.

    A Prayer For Owen Meany

"Owen Meany" is my favorite book of all time.  I reread it every other year, and "Garp" about every five.  I loved "A Widow For One Year" and "Until I Find You" as well.
