    Confession

I pride myself on not listening to "old" music, but The Carpenters are a guilty pleasure.

Karen Carpenter had the most soulful &

beautiful voices. Greatest female singer of 1970s to early 1980s. Love her songs very much.

    Solitare...

I would have to say that this is my favorite song though I like many of them. I can relate to this sing because it pertains to me. My last love was in 1996.

I don't think there was a better female vocalist

than Karen Carpenter, such a soothing and unique voice. She had a tremendous vocal range and could hit a high note without screaming. She was a unique woman and her legacy will live forever. Rest in peace Karen.

Sadly, I think their song "Goodbye To Love"

    They Were Fantastic

Karen' was beautiful and her voice was a dream, melodic and even soulful. I loved their songs. 'We've Only Just Begun', 'Baby It's You', 'Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas', 'I Won't Last A Day Without You', and 'Rainy Days and Mondays'.   Fantastic. Marvelous.

    Her Sound Was Gorgeous

She sang not from the diaphragm, but from the heart. She put so much of herself... her love, her pain, her hopes into every song she sang. She was absolutely incredible and her loss is profound to me even today. I sing their songs a great deal. Some have said I sound like...

    Just Magic

I've always loved their music. The harmonies were magic. They expressed emotion so well .I remember so well Karen, the drummer, an unusual instrument for a girl back then. But could she play! We didn't know just how tortured Karen was until after her death much too young on...
