    Going Back Home

I sometimes miss life in the country.A place where silence is truly silent. Hearing the wind blowing, waxwings calling to each other and bees searching the landscape for their next source of nectar. Serene and quiet. Cattle grazing, calves jumping and sparrows playfully chasing...

Going out of town to visit my "second family"

out in the country. Softball game, party, indoor-pool, and a cookout will always make a bad day better. It's worth the lack of sleep, not visiting my grandparents, and the long drive <3 This day will only get so much better and I get to spend it with the best people ;)

    Country Born and Bread

I was born and raised in Ohio.  We lived back in the woods.  I loved this.  Playing outside from dawn till dusk. Never having to worry about anything. We had no neighbors for 5 miles every way. That is one regret I guess I do have - I now live...

I was born and raised in the city

so yeah, I'm a city girl. But I'm definitely not afraid to get down and dirty. I LOVE being outdoors, especially away from the city. I have a friend out in the country and every summer we go 'mudding' together lol it's so much fun!

The Upper Peninsula Of Michigan Country At Its Best

When we are in the Upper Peninsula we love to take walks along the river, watching the ships sail by. Walk the beaches collecting agates (wave polished stones), explore old beached ship wrecks. Walk and climb the sand dunes enjoying the views from the top. Lighthouses to tour...

I miss the beauty of living close with nature.

My grandfather built a cabin in southern Colorado in one of the most beautiful places. There are vast amounts of trees, pastures and wildlife. It's near the Canejos River. I used to go up there any chance I could. We would have plenty of adventurous hikes during the day. In the...

    Relax, Put Your Feet Up

I live in the country and wouldn't have it any other way.  I grew up in the suburbs of a large city but visited the country during summer breaks. I loved the quiet, slow pace of the country but as a child, couldn't wait to get back home to friends. As an adult, it didn't...

    COUNTRY Living

I LOVE THE COUNTRY. IN THE COUNTRY, WHEN A CAR PASSES ON A DIRT ROAD, THE DRIVERS WAVE. WHEN A NEIGHBOR GETS SICK, WE TAKE CARE OF THEM, MOW THEIR YARDS, COOK DINNERS, AND CHECK ON THEM. WHEN IT SNOWS WE CLEAN OUT THE OLD FOLKS DRIVEWAYS. WE HELP THE ELDERLY IN THE...

I'm outside today on my 100 acre farm,

building an extra cabin for guests and family. I love it out here, you can see the stars at nights and sometimes the grasshoppers and crickets are so loud they keep me up at night. Love it.

    Friday Nights

I think I might be in a clear minority when I say I’m not really a country music fan, that is at least to sit and listen to it. I have some friends that are huge fans though. A while back they finally convinced me to go out with them to a country bar. I was expecting the...

    No Name Roads

Three forth of the roads i travel, here in my river valley, don't have lines, most roads are numbers that run for miles and miles. But my favorite roads are the ones that have no name, hard dirt roads that take me so far into no mans land that all i can do is stop. Get out and...

    To Visit Only Though!

I don't want to live in rural America ever again. Growing up in a small town probably would still be okay with me if I had never escaped and experienced life in the city. Some people love living out in the country and would not change for anything.
