    I Love the Desert

I think the desert is so beautiful because it remains mostly untouched by humans. I love how the bright sky melts into the horizon with the endless baron land.

    The Desert Is Beautiful

I know lots of people who think the desert is ugly and depressing, but I find it to be mysteriously beautiful.  I think I could even live there.  There's something beautiful about looking all around you and seeing nothing but sand and rock...no sign of life or civilization...

    Just Love It

I think the desert is beautiful. A lot of people just see it as a dry, dull place. I always wanted to live like on a ranch in the desert. The Coyotes, snakes etc animals just roaming free. It's really quiet and peaceful. Hot during the day, but cool at night. I just love every...

    Growing Up In the Mojave

I was nearly 3 when my family moved to California City, which is about a half hour from Edwards AFB. It's a small town of about 10,000 people or so. Some of my earliest memories are of long walks in the desert with my family, when it wasn't too hot. There were dirt roads going...

As a Kid I Would Draw Desert Scenes...

...from my dreams: the hot day sky with flames of color or the diamonds of the cool, black desert nights. growing up in the south, i knew nothing (first-hand) of the beautiful hues and the amazing contrast of the american south west. so it was literally a dream come true when i...

There's Something Mysteriously Beautiful About The Desert

After I graduated from high school, I took a trip out West with my parents.  We visited Colorado, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, and New Mexico.  My parents loved Colorado, as did I, but they didn't seem to appreciate much of the desert other than the Grand Canyon.  They said that...

    The Desert

The Mojave desert is place where it's still possible to get away from civilization and enjoy solitude.  The days can be brutally hot, but when the sun gets low on the horizon, the temperature begins to drop quite quickly.  Some of the coldest nights I've ever spent have...
