Personal Stories, Advice, and Support 80 People

The Dresden Dolls are currently on their ten year anniversary tour.  I saw them the other night in Lexington, KY and they were, as usual, utterly amazing.  Amanda's voice was strong and clear, and Brian's drumming was full of passion and energy.  The chemistry...

    The Dolls

I can't think my friend Kristen enough for getting me into the Dolls. They are just so magnificent! I would love to see one of their shows. Not only are they a unique style of music, they are also a theatre showing themselves. Amanda's voice is so strong-willed and powerful. I...

I'm Not the Carefullest of Girls.

I had just graduated highschool. I was jobless, and living with my grandparents. I was in the country and feeling quite disconnected from everything (in one of my many frequent "oh woe is me" moods) when I was up in the wee hours of the morn watching Subterranean on MTV...

    I Love The Dolls!

I found the dear Dolls about 5-6 years ago and I have been a fanatic ever since. They are my all time favorite band, not just because they put on a great show, but also because they are what I like to call real artists. They show amazing amount to skill and passion for what they...

    Unlikely Moment

I had a friend in college named Josh who always listened to NPR. One day, he put on "Coin Operated Boy" on the way to an art gallery and I was hooked. That time in my life was one of the best I've ever had. The Dresden Dolls are part of that soundtrack.

    My Introduction...

was while I was working at a local radio station, programming in KCRW's Sounds Eclectic program. Coin Opperated Boy was the track and I immediately fell in love. Scribbled down their name and it took off from there! Even my momma loves 'em. I had friends who disagreed...until...

    Their Music Is Everything..

By far my most favorite band in the world... The first song I heard was Coin-Operated Boy a few years ago, and I've been in love with them ever since. Straight(With Strings) is me in a song. I don't know why it isn't more popular(granted it isn't on any of the albums, and I ...

    And Afp Ftw!

I love the dresden dolls so much. They carried me through my depression, and let me out alive instead of dead by my own hand. Amanda Palmer inspired me to keep my life. She seemed so similar to me, she seemed to have the same problems, the same personality as I had. But in the...

    Just Sing

I was introduced to the Dresden Dolls in 2005.  My best friend saw them on Jimmy Kimmel Live and told me about them.  I was hooked from day one. Amanda Palmer's voice pierces my heart and Brian Viglione is an amazing drummer.  Their Punk Cabaret is the...
