I Love the English Language

Why! all delights are vain, but that most vain 527 People

The first time I learn to speak English was at

a camp in U.S. At that time I wasn't able to say or understand a single word in English. First of all, I was late and newbie. So, when I enter (btw, I was really shy). The counselor present myself. And then she ask a question like really quick. In my head I was like : What hell...

when I thought I would teach English class to high schoolers. That time has come and gone, but my love for the English language remains. I'm saddened by it's misuse in today's cyber age. English is almost dead! LoL, brb, wyd, wtf

Logophile is my latest self identifier: lover

of words! The magic of written words is powerful indeed, making it possible to transfer a complex idea from my mind to yours with only an assembly of letters and spaces! How fabulous is that?!!! 🎉

    Syncing? Is anyone else annoyed

when iTunes announces "syncing iPod"? Even though "syncking" would admittedly look funny, this is how it should be spelled. Otherwise, "syncing" could easily be pronounced "syn-sing". The "k" serves to keep the hard sound of "c" before "i" or "e". I think it sets a bad...

. do not message me. :) I understand English may not be your first language, and you make a few spelling errors here and there, that's understandable for anyone.. But if you can't type a proper sentence do not message me. I do not want to hurt my head trying to decipher what you...

I can't remember when I REALLY started to learn

English, but I believe it was about 18 years ago. What can I say, I'm fluent in speech and writing now and that's the reason why I'm extra happy when I learn something new, e.g. a word or an expression. And: gotta love English idioms.

To all the native English speakers out there,

be proud of yourself cause you can write English perfectly and speak fluently. I'm right here hoping that I could master both of them. I know I sound crazy but that's exactly what I really want, to master the language.

    It's a complicated language.

Nobody actually speaks true English since they have to make words up which eventually evolve into everyone's minds. Dennis Baron is right. We should ban English from being the US's official language. But I'm proud to call it mine.
