I Love the Grateful Dead

    As It Began...

It all started for me when I was 12 years old.  Where I grew up, I was within walking distance from Rich (Ralph Wilson) Stadium in Orchard Park, NY.  Back then, there were still concerts held there, and it was great because you could sit in your backyard and hear all...

    Life On the Road

I spent a good 4 years on and off the road following 'the dead' and other various remaining hippie bands.  Its all about the family you make with the other lost Jerrys kids who are stuck in aworld that is not real.  The only reality is getting to the next show. ...

    Their Music Is Timeless

I love the Dead. I did not find out about them until '92, but in that time i got to a few shows of my own. Oh the sweet days of living in Haight Ashbury,, all my friends were hippies, we would go to shows often. My first show was at the Shoreline in 92. It was amazing, such...

Miracle For Last Philidelphia Spectrum Show

The Dead will be the last band to play a concert at The Philidelphia Spectrum on May 2, 2009, before it is demolished. As The Dead have been playing terrific hours long performances so far on tour, I EXPECT that they would really "bring the house down" on this...

    There has never been,

is not now, and never will there ever again be anything like a Grateful Dead concert! If your experience is only hearing them on the radio or some studio recording, you can never even begin to conceive the essence of the experience. It is truly indescribable.

I have binge listened certain songs to excess

from the Dead. Dark Star and Estimated Prophet are the songs that have been played the most in my house. These are two completely different songs but I feel like they are both quintessential songs in the Dead's song library.

    I Miss Jerry!

I made a trip earlier this summer with some fiends to go see the Dead. I had a great time reminiscing and they put on a great show but one thing stands out. The Dead are not the Grateful Dead. I was lucky in that I was the youngest kid among my siblings and...

So I just shared this elsewhere

but it should be here too. I was asked if I have a fantasy. I'm not really a fantasy guy but more of a scene person. However, I said I would have love'd to drop LSD at a show and find a willing girl to let me lift up her skirt and dance **** her to the music. Sadly, I didn't...

    Thanks to Chris...

I'd always known of The Dead and their impact on music but never really -listened- to them until I heard The Black Crowes cover "He's Gone" on a concert DVD Extra. Chris Robinson, the vocalist, loves the band, so now I'm soaking them up too. Thank ya baby!
