...and Read Them Over and Over!

My mom read these to me when I was too little to read, and the stories are wound all throughout my own childhood memories. I read the series again and again through the years, and then I kind of neglected them in college, and just picked them up this week and read them all again...

    Not For The Next Generation?

I had the old style of books. The yellow boxed set. I read them over and over and over. I loved the simplicity. The unfettered way they lived. I loved their family, and how they always stuck together. I also used to watch the show on tv when I was a kid. Tonight, I was flipping...

    Loved Them

The Little House books were my favorite as a preteen. I have probably read them all a dozen times each. My mom bought the whole boxed set for me a few years ago for Christmas, sort of a nostalgic gift, but I've yet to go back and read them as an adult. I look forward to...

    The Program Or The Books?

I never got a chance to read "the Little House" books when I was a child. From things I've been able to glean off the Internet, and snippets in the TV reruns, I know the basic story of Laura Ingalls Wilder. I know the writers took artistic license with the basics In the name of...

    What a Generation!

These stories helped me relate to my great-grandparents.  Not only are they well-written, but the glimpse of a pioneer lifestyle is a nice connection to my roots. I wonder how today's children would do in that environment.

    Laura Ingalls and Nancy Drew

I adored the Little House series as a child. Laura Ingalls and Nancy Drew were my favorite literary heroines as a child. I would literally go to the library and check out 30+ books [most of them either Little House or Nancy Drew], pile them into a little wagon, go home, and read...
