    Musical & Entertaining

I grew up with the TV show making a re-emergence on MTV for the groups's anniversary.  MTV would have these lengthy marathons, paying tribute to a band that brought musical entertainment to TV regularly far before MTV's existence. I had watched the show before that, though...

    I'll Miss You, Davy

Shortly after my former girlfriend and i adopted Davey in 2000, my kittycat on the right in my picture, i named him after Davy Jones because she had a crush on him since she was only eight in 1966, when she used to watch The Monkees T.V. show every Saturday morning - which i did...

    A Sad Childhoood Too

I too had a very sad, neglective and abusive childhood, but the Monkees gave me a way of escaping that.  Now I have the Monkees on both DVDs and VHS and whenever feel I need a good laugh  and great music to feel better, I watch them.

Recently, I have not been able to get the song "Star Collector" out of my mind.  It is just such a great one!  Now, I hope that all of the readers of this hum it all day, too!  ;-)

    I First Watched..

When they re-ran the show in the early 80's on Nickelodeon. I remember being sick the first day I saw them, with an ear ache. My sister pointed them out to me.  I can't even remember how old I was. Probably around 12 or so. I fell in love instantly with Mickey. At the...

    See You Later Davy

Not gone just away. In my p.o.v. Mike Nesbitt sums it up best; "All the lovely people. Where do they all come from?" began a statement from the Monkees ' guitarist, who was as shocked as anybody to learn that the 66-year-old Jones had died today after suffering a heart attack...

    Daydream Believer

RIP Davy Jones. For those of a certain vintage, The Monkees were part of our upbringing. For me it was through my elder sister. She was a member of The Monkees fan club, had all the records, posters, and the rest. I came to love their brand of breezy pop music. For those who...

"Don't sleep without me in your heart" Davy

jones what can I say? I love him like teenagers love Justin Bieber. When he died I died too. but I was reborn again to fight the sadness and heartbreak. No one really gets over a death they just learn how to move on. RIP Davy Jones.

    The Monkees Kept Me Sane

I grew up in a very dysfunctional, abusive family. Rules were very strict, but I was allowed to watch The Monkees each week. That was the high point of my week. Micky is my favorite. I have always like him because I think he is very cute and so funny! Plus he plays the drums...
