There Has To Be At Least A River Close To Where I Live...

Whenever I am too far away from water I feel like I am literally drying out. I just love the sound of wind and waves, just love to look out into the wideness and vastness of the ocean. It just feels great to look at the horizon and feeling that when there's so much space in this...

My last trip to the ocean was to Port Aransas,

Texas, at the top of Padres Island. I went there for my birthday last December, with my big sis. The beach has always been my favorite place to go. The sound of the surf, the feeling of sand under my feet. The salt air, the seagulls! Pure joy!!

my favorite time to be at the ocean is

when the weather is chilly. early morning or late night. walking on the cool wet sand with bare feet. wrapped in a blanket. the roar of the waves. cool sea mist spraying the air.

You said that I am bigger

than the sea. I wanted so much to tell you that you are like the ocean. I am willing to dive in and I don't care if I drown. Because I know that I'll drown with you...within you.

And oh, how I miss it.

It always calms me and somehow manages to take my troubles, my fears, my worries away with the tide. I think it's time for a visit.

    Home

A business trip took me home recently. I suppose it's not really "home", as the place I live now is the same city I have lived in for the majority of my life. But coastal North Carolina is home to me. Has been from the moment I first arrived there. I lived there for four years...

    So peaceful, so serene,

so calming. The pounding of the waves! The power of the tide! "Because there's nothing more beautiful than the way the ocean refuses to stop kissing the shoreline, no matter how many times it's sent away."

Yes it's true, I do. But my ocean is the lovely

Lake Michigan...I've had the privilege of spending time on the beach with family members today, and I am at a place of feeling calmed, at peace, and fulfilled--not always an easy combination to find. The waves were breathtaking today...I could not get enough. Sighhhhh. Thank you...

I could walk along the ocean all day.

My uncle and aunt own a beach house and I used to love to wake up and see the waves of the ocean. I would walk outside and smell and hear it. We used to go down for the 4th of July. We'd have a fire on the beach and watch the city fireworks. Some of the happiest times in my life...

but right now I'm staying close to home (which is nowhere near the ocean) and getting my bachelor's of English. Hopefully I'll be able to get both bachelor's someday. I'm looking forward to my marine biology degree! Whenever I get there that is.
