winterQuietly slipping out of it's graspTeasing and tauntingSwelling, and opening, and bursting forthSpreading her colorful mantle over theundulating landscape...But alas, she awoke to feel the cool sting of winter on her fresh surface! One last reminder of it's dominance.
There is almost nothing I like more than being outdoors. Working in my garden or walking in the forest restores my soul. I like being a wanderer of the world.
I literally feel myself recharge when I step into the forest. I'm fortunate to live close to the woods and it's magical...
and two weeks after that before I start my summer job.
I live in Maine and was thinking of taking a few days to do some solo camping/hiking... I've never done that sort of thing by myself before, so the idea of doing it by myself makes me a little nervous...
Anyone done solo...
She came back with wind.
Cold fokyn wind. 45 to 55 miles fast.
Texas has tornadoes.
But we got oklahoma beat.
Just four hours out of los angeles.
And its cold.
Less than twenty minutes in it.
Almost blew me over twice.
And made my nose leak.
winter nights and nights in the other seasons. Is a different kind of dark, and the quiet always makes me hold my breath. No chittering insects, the birds and critters are tucked away somewhere hidden, and all the other sounds are muffled and absorbed by the snow. Some nights I...
Me said give three days.
But rain was followed by wind.
Cold fokme wind.
Yet my mind said go be worthy.
So me went.
Bookworm turned firepit maker.
Egghead turned prospector.
No building knowledge.
It's nice to just go down by the lake and forget about everything that's happening in your life and in the world. Just focus on yourself a little bit, reflect, relax and partake in a beautiful fall day!
Life has a few simple pleasures, but this is one of them!
or more than most. I have met a few people on here who are as passionate as me about the out doors.
I have one question to them and the rest of the community, Why is man spoiling it. I read and listen to people complain about trash in the streets and parks...pick it up..bend...
Mountains to me, is the high altitude town of Telluride CO.There is a Gondola that travels back and forth from it to Mountain Village. It is a spectacular 13 minute ride, and is the first and only 'free' public transportation system of its kind in the United States. You get a...

when you have good company, to just go out and enjoy nature. ^^
You come back happy and refreshed. I lit this incense stick of Dragon's Blood (now my favorite, most resonating incense ^^) and had the most restorative sleep ever.
it's lovely. ^^
It's very beautiful outside tonight. I always think it's beautiful outside at nighttime though. I live in a part of the city where there are so very many trees, and a couple streams, and woodsy areas and little animals about. The sky is open and uninterrupted by tall buildings...
By a very cold wind.
A tarp over the hood of my truck.
To keep rain away from an inverter.
Attached to the battery.
To charge electronics.
But a wind blew the tarp off.
And almost away.
But bailing wire
And a large wooden spool held it here...
and even though I'm not the most physically fit person in the world, who doesn't enjoy a scenic vista and brisk hike? :P I just wish there were more nature-y things to see around Chicago. I want mountains and deserts and giant trees and stuff :P Not just beaches and fields...
setting up my camp, gathering edibles and hunting for meat, gathering and splitting extra firewood and sitting back and enjoying the atmosphere. Waking up to those warm embers and starting the day again. Nothing else like it.
The pic isn't my gear but similar to what I take...
trail I walk/jog on. The overcast day was a perfect backdrop for the vibe of it.Like tendrils reaching into the sky. Standing as a silent sentinel to the passage of time.Always thought I'd write a story to go with it, but it never came to me. So, the image speaks for itself...
but there's something about nature that brings peace to the mind.
Is it the wind blowing gently and softly brushing up against the skin? Is it the birds chirping creating beautiful melodies? Maybe it's basking in the warmth of the sun kissing the skin ever so softly? Idk but...
that I live in.. Not my home, but what's around it. Nothing but stores, buildings, schools, roads, cars..
I wish I was somewhere closer to nature..where there's no sounds of cars or trains.. Just the birds and the wind..
I wish I had a calm, relaxing place outdoors to read..in...

and dirty. I know most girls aren't so I go on adventures through the forest myself most times. All my friends ditch me cause they're those type of girls who are on their phones all the time but it's whatevs.
Maybe because I am older and technology wasn't where it is today, I always found my enjoyment being outside rather than inside. There is just something about fresh air and being outside that soothes the soul to me. Whether it was camping with my family or camping with friends...
