The Threat to the Sea I Love

Many of my favorite memories, and many that I am making today happen on or close to the sea.  That is why it disturbs me that so often I will tune to the news and find that some municipality along the river leading to the sea has had an "accident" in which tons of...

Mist rolling in over the sea on a grey morning.

When the weather is bad, she's does her thing ebbing and flowing, never questioning. Turning it up, rolling it over, washing it away, only to scatter it stray & estranged like driftwood on the sands. GDuck

.. N make me feel to think about life and the review about whole world... It makes me feel like philosopher !!! I can sit hours and hours looking at it and time stops .... Very eternal feelings to feel on sea....

I lived for most of my life in the UK.

Miles from the sea, I used to go there for a holiday or to dive but not often. Now we live in Malta, it's such a small Island. The sea is just about visible from our roof, it takes 30 mins to walk to the sea! We are very lucky!

I really do love the sea.

I find it very calming, especially late at night. When I can't sleep (like tonight) I often drive to my nearest beach, where there is a secluded little cove that I'm surprised isn't visited by more people. This is where I come to gain clarity and calm my mind. The sound of...

A place where all seems ok,

the smell and the sounds that come with sitting by the sea is breathtaking. A place where you can go and forget any worries you have even if it is just for a short time. Taking in the colour of the sea and the sun reflecting and making it sparkle, the sound each wave makes...

I love the sea. I live far away,

but when I visit, it's a cherished time. I've never felt such relaxation or felt so much magic around me than when I was there.

    Limitless and immortal,

the waters are the beginning and end of all things on Earth.... However, man insists on being the superior thing on this planet...the sea was here long before him and he will very possibly be the cause of its disappearance...

Ok. I said it was quiet.

It ain't. The tide has come in. It's noisy. Where I live we have a huge tidal range. The Bay of Fundy in Canada has the highest. We have the second highest! One minute there is no water to be seen. Six hours later the waves are crashing at your door!

I love the sea, and feel very drawn to it.

There is something about the sea and its character and contents that I have always found most enticing. I come from a historic seaport in England, and grew up hearing many tales of life at sea, and I have several friends and relatives who have spent a lot of time out on the...

I would be in it, by it,

on it, listening to it, smelling it, sailing on it, surfing on it, snorkelling through it, choosing my wardrobe by it all day long. I want to move beside it. I suspect I must have been a sailor's wife in a previous life.

I live by the sea. In fact at high tide the

I Wish I Lived By the Sea

There is something calming yet frightening about the sea. It scares me that it is such a big open space that we know so little about. The idea of giant squids and other such animals live in it. Yet at the same time, it is one of the most peaceful, beautiful things to watch. Even...

Song of the Sea The surf strokes the wet sand.

The wind tosses my curls. Seagulls dip, soar, and argue. Pockets of water along the shore heat up. Little beds of life living... Algae brushes the wet breathing rocks. The tide turns and glances back at her sea. The sun breathes its light through each bursting wave. The sky...

Until a few months ago I lived in a flat by the

beach. The sea was magnificent. Constantly changing, filling the estuary, deserting the estuary as the tides came and went. Sometimes calm with gentle waves lapping the shore. And then from nowhere, such ferocity. Waves building. Waves crashing. Wind surfers delighted. Their...

I once knew a woman with eyes like the sea on a

Doesn't the sound of the waves

or the smell of the sea just calms you down? Whenever I need a place to find inner peace and calm the turmoil inside me, I walk around the beach take deep breaths and later collect some seashells and make a sandcastle.. I miss the feeling of the wet sand around my feet..

    Ocean Girl

I am a lover of the sea. An ocean girl to the core. I love the sea so much I am miserable when a year passes and I haven't at least dipped in it. Two months ago I dipped my feet in the waters of southern Greece after an absence of 6 years and it felt wonderful! I wish I could...

    Never been to the ocean.

I live an hour from Lake Michigan though. I don't care for water I can't see the bottom of. However I have a saltwater reef tank do the sea is next to me in my room.

    La Mer...

I could never live someplace far from the sea, some place really inland. I must have sea salt running in my veins. The sea calls me, and I weep every time I witness the glisten of the Mediterranean big blue from the air, when I return to its embrace for my first summer swim.

To me, the sea is like a person.

.. like someone I’ve known a long time. It sounds crazy, I know, but when I swim in the sea I talk to it. I never feel alone when I’m out there. The voice of the sea speaks to the soul. The touch of the sea is sensuous, enfolding the body in its soft, close embrace... the...

People who live by the sea understand eternity.

They copy the curves of the waves, their hearts beat with the tides, and the saltiness of their blood corresponds with the sea. They know that the house of flesh is only a sandcastle built on the shore, that skin breaks under the waves like sand under the soles of the first...
