    Before my parents' divorce,

the house we had had a big field beside it where my brothers, cousins, and I would go and play in in the summer. In that field, there was a large amount of honeysuckle up towards the front and a big blackberry bush towards the fence. One of my fondest childhood memories is going...

    Honeysuckle, Sweet Honeysuckle

Oh Honeysuckle! That is one of the many things I miss from my old home. I used to love sleeping with the widow open in the summer because you could smell it in the morning.  Honeysuckle grew everywhere there, behind my house, in the woods around my house, by the parks...

    Sweet and Subtle

There is a National Battlefield next to my parents home.  It has a wonderful bike trail and honeysuckle is everywhere.  I like to ride the bike up and down the hills while the smell hits me in waves.  It is such a comforting smell that I sometimes stop, close my...

Both I and the Hummingbird Love the Smell of Honeysuckle

I remember pulling, picking and sucking on honeysuckle as a child. On a walk in a wooded area I try to bring back memories each place I go. Three times I have planted a different honeysuckle vine. The one by the shed grows the best, yet each morning one...

All The Flowers Come Up Singing~~~In the early

morning when I go into the backyard to water, I am treated to the heady, intoxicating delight of blooming honeysuckle. The eight vines, planted to attract hummingbirds, have a powerful effect on my senses. I am overtaken, engulfed, and awakened by a scent so lovely, so...

    The Sweet Clean Smell Mmmm

I so miss the smell of honeysuckle. My moms house had them on the side of the house and I got so use to being around it. Need to plant some so I can have that again. P.S. Having them close to the house is not actually a good idea they do attract many stinging insects, I...

    Breathe Deep

Many many years ago, we used to have a fence that was covered in honeysuckle. When I was mad or upset, I would go outside and push my face into the plant and just breathe deep. It was always so beautiful and relaxing.

    Honeysuckle Memory

Years ago I passed a young girl at the mall who was wearing the same perfume as my "teenage girlfriend" from 30 years back .... I literally spun around as the memory came rushing into my head. The time, the place, the girl, the embrace, the kiss, the...

    Takes Me Back

Everytime i smell honeysuckle I remember when I was a little girl  in our backyard. That was a happy time before my parents split and my great-grandmother died. So whenever I smell it, Honeysuckle is not only a great scent but reminds me of better days.

    ...and the Taste.

It was part of my life until the last 16 years.  I've always had it growing somewhere in the yard, so that it's always pretty to walk by, so that the scent fills the yard in the evening, so that the house smells of honeysuckle when the windows are open, so that you can pick...

    Good Memories.

When I was living and being raised in New orleans, some of the only memories of my mom and dad and I all together and happy were when they would take me out to a pasture of sorts and we'd pick them and eat it. Hahas there were other reasons my parents wanted to go there... but I...

    Mmmm Delicious

Mmm, the smell of honeysuckle brings back memories of childhood. We used to have a huge bush in the back yard at my house, and my sisters and I would actually harvest it, taking a wagon out there to get branchful after branchful of the beautiful, fragrant flowers. To this...

    School Playground

I remember in the spring when I was a kid at school. It grew wild & thick on the fences separating us from the cows. (small town, lol) The smell was sweet & strong & would float on the wind so that you'd get little sniffs of it here & there. We'd go pick the...

    On My Block

I like to walk around the block sometimes and on opposite side of the block that my house is on there is a huge bush of honeysuckle and the scent is so beautiful. I wish they made a perfume that was honeysuckle scented. I'd wear it.

Wish I Could Find a Perfume

Honeysuckle is the most gentle, graceful, feminine fragrance I've ever smelled. It's sweet and mild, but it still has just a bit of spice--perfect for a perfume. If I could go through life smelling just like a honeysuckle, I'd be a much, much happier and self-actualized person...

    At Home

We have honeysuckle at the bottom of our driveway. The scent hovers there and I get to enjoy a whiff of it when I leave and when I come home. When walking to the mail on the weekends I can't help but pluck a flower and taste the sweet drop inside the flower.

I like the smell of fresh honeysuckle

and sometimes when it is listed in perfumes I like them, but I tried some honeysuckle cream (for body or face) once and it was quite strong and a bit musty and old fashioned...so other than that I like the smell of it!

    Smells Like Summer to Me

My backyard shed was covered in the stuff and I would always go out and pull the flowers apart and suck on the sweet nectar on the ends. I would make necklaces and watch them fall apart as I run off and play in the dirt. I sat under a tree and watch the hummingbirds play around...

    Heavenly...

I love to take a drive in the springtime, usually around mid-May.  I roll down my windows and enjoy the scent of newly-bloomed honeysuckle.  It's a sure sign that spring has arrived and the long, cold winter is over!
