I Love the Smell of the Earth After the Rain

Last evening it just poured. Afterwards I had the windows open and the most wonderful scents rolled in on a cool breeze....
the scent of pine
the scent of wet dirt
the scent of wet grass
the scent of petunias and other flowers...

I grew up in Montana, and in the summertime, when that thunder started rolling and the first drops of rain would fall, I would go and sit outside and just breathe in that wonderful smell.

One of the things I miss most about my time spent in Florida.  It rains a lot and smells so fresh after. Here when it rains it takes a lot before it smells that clean and fresh.  Too much smog and dust.
