I read Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige (It's

sort of a twisted version of Wizard of Oz about another girl from Kansas).. It just felt weird to read.

The Wizard Of Oz...my Absolute Favorite!

I have a theory that this movie has probably been seen by more people than any other movie. The fact that it comes to us as children is probably the reason why. In the case of 'The Wizard of Oz' it's hard to imagine anyone who might not have seen it at some point in their lives...

    Yearning For Oz

Before I renamed myself Willow, making a break from my family and childhood, my name was Dorothy. When I was five, someone gave me Baum's book. My father thought it would be too scary, so he waited until I was seven to read it to me. I absolutely loved it and after that I wanted...

    Judy Garland

I was heartbroken to know the true life of the real Dorothy. I found out Judy Garland actually lived a life of hell for a long time. Even though everyone adored her, she battled depression her whole life. She was very insecure and film executives and directors of the movies she...

    W.O.O. Classic Fun

It's one of those old time movies that never gets old. The innocence of youth and imagination. Though the witch has become my fave. more (mostly because of Wicked), I still love it. I watch it every year when it comes on with my parents. Tradition is a good thing. I actually saw...

I Came From the Land of Oz

I lived in Kansas for 40 years. I think that it is black and white and dusty all the time. Now I live in Virginia in a resort city and it is like being in the Emerald City by comparison.

It was my favorite movie growing up; and,

it was what we did for my senior class play. I am thrilled that I got to be a part of it. The whole cast became sort of like a dysfunctional family, we argued and fought; but in the end, we sat down for dinner and forgot all about it while we laughed. That was an experience I...

    Living the Oz Life

When I was a child, Oz was my biggest passion.  I loved all 14 of Baum's Oz books and read a couple of the 30 something others that were written by various other authors.  Every year when the movie came on, I would cut out all the ads I could find.  I read up on...
