I Need To Learn To Finish A Project I Start!

I have been cross-stitching since childhood. My grandmother first taught me by doing my initials on a hand towel, and after that, I was hooked. I tend to get a bit carried away with cross-stitching magazines and patterns that I happen across. I will buy them all gung-ho about the...

Went on a road trip to North Carolina and a friend introduced me to cross stitching. I was quick to dismiss it... "That's so girly." Continuing on the trip, I saw a 2 dollar cross stitching activity in a Cracker Barrel... this is where the addiction began. I feel like I'm a rare...

    Obsessive Stitching

Since I was a child, I was always fascinated by patterns and shapes. Going out to dinner with the family or visiting Mom's friends had me considering the decor, wallpaper, curtains, and anything else of simple or intricate design. Shadows on the wall at bedtime wasn't scarey, but...

I`ve been doing this for many many years. But I don't like to use store bought patterns, cuz most of them are just too... pretty or sentimentally schmaltzy. I don`t want to sew puppies and kittens either. I prefer to make up my own. I create geometric designs like mandalas a lot...

    I'm addicted to this kit.

It's a beautiful warm toned woman in kimono, my first big project. I just can't stop working on it. It's been several days now and I'm slow but doing well it seems so far. A little proud of myself too I must admit.

    Eye of the Needle

My mother taught me the basics of embroidery as a child. Later in my teen years I discovered counted cross stitch. I have finished several projects, some simple, and others more complex. I feel calm with a needle in my hand. I can stitch while I listen to music, watch a movie...
