I Love to Garden

For some reason, my garden is not growing well

this year. The plants are all maturing very slowly. At several months old, they look like a plant would normally look around a couple of weeks. Any suggestions?

A Little Less Excited This Year

Last May, I started a small garden. Actually, I was gardening in pots.  I am going to garden this summer, again in pots.  Last year was a disaster.  I planted carrots and cherry tomatoes.  I had my garden kicked off my balcony because you can only have flowers, not...

    Mind Of A Gardener

I have started a garden as a way to clear my mind. It makes me feel as if there is hope to becoming something. Just watching my plants grow makes me feel happy.

Spring of 2012. As 'Almost Aristotle'.

My Garden I wish I had the words to paint Just what my eyes can see, While looking at my garden At what nature gives for free. Bronze and gold, blue and green Are colours that abound, And lofty black bamboo stems Sway high above the ground. Foliage of bronze and...

The first three weeks of April,

were very mild, sunny and warm, on some days. I got outside on a few days, and got some serious clearing, and preparation done. I acquired a little companion. Sometimes, no more than a couple of feet away, he watched closely wherever I was working. Unfortunately, I never turned...

I love working in my garden in the spring. The colors of my flowers are amazing. God gave us so much beauty to enjoy in life if only we will open our hearts and let it in. It gives me such peace to plant different types of flowers and watch them grow into beautiful blossoms. A...

    I'm So Excited!!!

I bought two "Simple Garden" pots that I got on sale over the weekend.  I am going to try and grow carrots in one and cherry tomatoes in the other.  I haven't tried to grow anything since the Sunflower I planted and grew in elementary school.  That grew to about 8 feet!  The...

    Why I Love to Garden

I love to garden because it is like therapy for me. When the warmer weather starts to arrive, I feel antsy inside; almost like an addict needing a quick fix!   I love to feel the warmth of the sun on my shoulders as I listen to the different birds as they sing...

    I Grow Timatoes

Yes the spelling was intentional. My birth name is Timothy, so in my garden I grow Timatoes instead of Tomatoes. A little bat guano and some other "Fox Farm" nutrients and we are talking plump, juicy, mmmmm mmmm mmmmmm Timatoes man! (((Don't I think I'm so clever sometimes)))

    Garden Tending

Well, it's harvest time and I'm in trouble with my mom. I planted my garden at my parents house and then disappeared. I've been over there, a lot, but it's been too hot or too buggy or I wasn't dressed for being around dirt, so I just kept agreeing with my mom that I needed to...

    Bonsai - Here I Come

I visited the nursery yesterday.  Did a wise thing and didn't take too much money - so I couldn't succumb to temptation! Saw this fragrant white flower that had been bonsai'd at the nursery. Have brought home a smaller (read, cheaper) version of it home to try my hand at...

    Gardens Are Art.

Gardening is one of the most difficult forms of art there is.  Unlike most art forms a garden is forever changing through the years, months, days and from hour to hour, minute to minute.    Too be continued....

It's been a long time since I did this and I'm trying it again.  The added bonus was that my son was there so I was able to initiate him into this amazing adventure. Just hope it takes - don't want him to be disappointed. We also managed to get some cuttings of...

I Feel, I Feel The Neeeed To Weeeed!

    The Joy Of Gardening

I spent a day weeding and pruning and ended the evening pulling thorns from various fingers!! However, I truly enjoy getting my fingers in the soil, feeling the plants and just being really tactile. Gloves seem to detract from the whole experience for me.

    I Garden Sporatically

Winter is coming and I feel like I am missing all the good days.  Part of me is ready for the snow to come and cover everthing.  Part of me want to sit out back a little longer.

I use working in my flowerbeds as a form of relaxtion therapy. Maybe its the warmth of the sun on my skin, the feel of the earth between my fingers or just the sight and smells of the different plants. For me its a way to let go of the tension and stress that I sometimes...
