I enjoy the feeling of being close to the water

level in the kayak, paddling through lake plants, lily pads and shorebirds. On the water you find peacefulness, tranquility & away from other's.

    Live On A Lake....

...so taking the kayak out can be as easy as carrying it from the garage to the lake. I can use it to fish but more often just paddle the lake and check out the wildlife that lives here. It's good exercise and definitely helps relax the mind. I need to do some trips though, a...

My First Outing Of The Year 2011

I went out to Creve Couer Lake in west Saint Louis County, Missouri.  Not a huge lake, it's part of a city park actually, but surrounded on all sides by wooded hillsides and bottom lands which harbor all kinds of waterfowl and wildlife. I went out just to get some fresh air and...

    To Float...

My job is, by its very nature, stressful and intense. I carry it with me everywhere I go... almost. Putting my boat on the rack, the gear in the car, I know that soon I will be floating again. The long drive to the put in, the giddy anticipation during the shuttle run, all of...

I learned to kayak two years ago, on a lake in New Hampshire. I was there with my sister, and had never kayaked before; my sister loves kayaking, and wanted to teach me, so I jumped into the boat, and started to paddle... And I have loved it ever since. Being out on that lake...

    Floating Alone

just like any other days, when i feel suffocated at home, I would go out, but not often to pubs or clubs. I prefer being with mother nature, whether it be mountain biking, or kayaking always been an outdoor person, being inside is not my thing but since i moved in the city, i...

It has now been about 3 weeks

since I last took the kayaks out. The weather is starting to cool down, so there are only a few more good weekends left before the weather is too cold. I would love to get one or two more trips under my belt before I have to put the boats away for the season.

    I Would Love To Kayak

I've never done it before, but It's on my bucket list. I will start training and buying the equipment once I'm done with school. I would also like to join a kayaking club.

    Saturday On the River

Saturday morning me and my husband set out in our kayaks. It was a beautiful morning, the sun was hot but there was a nice breeze coming off the water, it was low tide so we decided to go up the creek. As we paddled along we saw something splashing along the side of the...

I recently went on a canoeing trip with my

brother and in the process realized it is time for me to make the move from purely recreational kayaks to a transitional or touring kayak. Now the task of deciding what I am looking for, testing paddling, and trying to find a used boat kayak or two begins.

Kayaking Is Cheaper Than A Psychiatrist
