    Getting Lost In the Pleasure

So many different paths and perspectives to explore in great fiction. I love that feeling when I lose myself entirely to a fictional work, but then emerge from it with a deeper sense of intimacy with the world of "reality". It is possible that I have learned just as...

I get quite enough reality in my life,

I prefer to escape it with a healthy dose of fiction. Now I don't mean to say I jump from reality to high fantasy. Instead I sometimes merely go from my reality to a crime or thriller based in reality. If I want to read non fiction I prefer it in a condensed version as I just...

    I Love Crime Fiction, Mostly

And Ken Bruen is my favorite crime fiction writer.  He's hard to find, and he's worth all the effort it takes to find him. More and more, as I grow older, I find that I enjoy the classics as well.  I just finished reading a book called "The Souls of Solitude"...

    Fiction <3

Fiction is amazing to read. Some of my favorite fiction books include The Price of Salt, Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistlestop Cafe...Among others that I'm blanking on at the moment. LOL

I adore fiction, I love stories

that make me reevaluate my reality. Some authors I love are Ayn Rand, Vladimir Nabokov, and Alexandre Dumas. I prefer to read books with substance, but I will honestly read anything I can get my hands on.

    I'm About to Be Lame...

33 reads and zero comments on my last entry. If you read my writing and it's not working, please tell me. If it's just too much to read, say that too! At least I'll know!!! It's so lame to ask for comments, I know... but I'm willing to risk it and be that dorky.

    Especially Crime Fiction

Especially Scandinavian Crime Fiction. You all know where this is heading!A friend suggested the Larsson Trilogy to me and I finally borrowed it from her (even though it's a Best Seller!) and lost 4 days to it. If I could've propped it up on the steering wheel whilst driving I...

I read a lot of books on many subjects; history,

science and nature, philosophy, psychology, the paranormal and true crime are are among my biggest interests, but I do also read a lot of fiction. As fascinating as I find certain subjects, I also have a great appreciation for the escapism that a good work of fiction can...

    Enough Already!

i get enough nasty reality in my life without reading it, too!  when i read, i do it to escape this world and go somewhere else for a while.  fantasy is my favorite, because i can dream of going to that other world...  and when i'm reading, i really am there.

    I Lahk Boowux

I enjoy reading fiction. A good book should make the creative mind explode (or cringe in terror)with new ideas and possibilities. My favorite writers are: Ray Bradbury, J.K. Rowling, Stephen King (favorite books are the Dark Tower series), JRR Tolkien, Dean Koontz...

    I Love Fiction - That's a Fact

Mostly loner said it all really. But I have to add my own  words about the subject being an individual and everything. Escapism is the word that comes to mind. Escaping my own reality ( though my life isn't THAT bad) - like engrossing yourself in a movie - except twenty...

    I Prefer Fiction

Every now and then, someone writes a nonfiction book that grabs my interest, and of course reference books are useful, but I mostly read fiction.  It takes me beyond my small section of the world and my personal challenges, and into the world that someone else sees, or...

Do Any of You Fiction Conesseurs Want to Read Through This Piece and Critique?

I had posted it in a couple other places and it fell on deaf ears. I've since deleted it from everywhere else... maybe I'll delete it from here too. Who knows. Anyhow. I'm an artistic type with a very vivid imagination. I get all these great notions for madcap, magic filled...
