I Love to Run

Personal Stories, Advice, and Support 1,654 People

    The journey resumes this weekend.

As some of you may know, I have recurring running injuries, but I've been losing weight in an effort to ease the pressure on my joints. I've been feeling pain free within the past few weeks and I'm going to try again. #slowandsteady

Why is it that the hardest part of going out

for a run is getting yourself out of the door? Went out for a run today and once I started doing it I was glad to be there, finding my way through the woods, my mind totally focused on my footing not to trip on the rocks. My thoughts stilled, and I felt this zen feeling wash...

    Half-Marathon, I'm Coming !

Almost two years ago, one of my friends told me about a 5K she ran the year before, It was the first time I hear about those kind of competitions and It took me a while to understand what are marathons, half marathons and 5K's. That year, that friend of mine ran that 5K again...

    Back At It

I haven't posted many stories lately. I have been running about 64 km (40 miles) per week for several years, minus a week or month here or there because of work travel or other pressing matters of life. Running was one of the most stabilizing factors of life and a great source of...

    Running In The Rain.

The best time for me to go for a run is when it is just starting to lightly rain outside. :) I love how the world looks, sounds, and smells when it rains as I jog by. By the time I get back home its full on rain and invigorating. It's the best- except when I have to peel off the...

I shared this on another experience,

thought I would share here as well One of the best things I have found out about runners, they are always supportive and encouraging. Running is a sport that does not discriminate between rich or poor, sexual preference , religion, race, sex, or what type of beer you drink...

I had an accident this afternoon in a restaurant

where me and my friends had lunch. When I stood up, my right foot twitched. I fixed my shoe and wonder why. Then I stood up again and walked. After 2 steps, I fell, my dress up on my thighs, my face red, my foot so painful. Bad fall. Now it is so inflamed. This morning...

It's so simple! All you need is a pair of

shoes--no fancy equipment. Recharges me after a day of work. After running I feel like I added hours to my day. Sometimes I feel like having too little time is an illusion. When I run, I recharge, refocus, and reprioritize. Some of the things that seemed super important...

I love running, it's one of my greatest joys.

I love that it keeps me fit, that it builds stamina, which helps me to pursue all of the other sports that I love so much. I have always been a very physical person, my physique, and, strength, bear witness to this. I start, my run, at a fast pace, I remember how, in real...

Most people like to collect stuff

when they visit a foreign location. Some people collect T-Shirts, others stock up on postcards. For me, I collect runs. Nothing excites me more than going for a run in a foreign spot. I don't plan ahead, I just pick a random direction and hope for the best.

    Worth Your Time.

It's been over 3 years since I've seen you. A lots changed since we've seen each other last. You took up a life of health living, and a life built well suited for you. I took up a life just enough to get by, only to make me selfishly stronger. You love The Lord, I'm a drifter...

The longer and farther I ran,
