    Daughter's Scuba Stories

My first-grader daughter is fascinated by the idea of scuba diving. Of course she's never been, but she has a great imagination. One day the father of one of her first-grade friends asked me if I take her diving. I laughed and said no, and he laughed and said that she tells tall...

I was thinking how much fun it would be to swap

our my instructors air tank with a helium tank. Then see if he can stay underwater. When he comes back up, and tries to tell the class what to do next would be a riot. hehehe.

    Fish Dreams

There is something magical about entering the underwater world. We can only visit for a short time, but our thoughts remain in this world. I was first certified in scuba in Okinawa. Since then I have dove in California, Florida, Lake Michigan, and countless quarries. I love...

I just finished a week of diving in Key West and doubled-dipped the Vandenberg twice. The first day was a little disappointing as the visibility was only 40-50 feet. You could see the ship once you got up closer, but there was a bunch of stuff in the water making it hard to...

    Dynamic Underworld

Although my favorite diving has been off the Florida Keys, one outstanding dive was in a cove in San Diego. The three of us did a beach entry past the swimmers. The day was partly cloudy and the water looked dark with a slight chop. Once underneath, the teeming life of the cove...
