It took me 20 years to realize what I have

known all along - swimming is my true passion. I have now fallen in love with the pool... Every day I am there, working on my strokes and turns... Why did i quit swimming all those years ago???!!! I feel free in the water... Powerful... Graceful... Fast.... Alive!

I love to go swimming in our pool,

at the beach, and when we are boating with others. We all go skinny dipping.

Nothing Like It In the World!

ever since i was a child there's never been anything more freeing in the world.  it makes no difference how deep the water is, if it's surrounded by nature and filled with nature, or if it's held in cement or rubber ... there is NOTHING more relaxing! my first experience...

Since I began swimming this summer my main

focus has been on learning proper form, not necessarily speed - this will come in time, I am sure. Freestyle is such a lovely stroke. It is getting easier and easier to move, breathe, pull, push...My confidence is growing daily with each practice. But I have noticed that my...

Since I was a child I loved to swim,

but no one taught me how to swim. My elders stopped me saying I was too young to swim but one day I jumped into pool following my uncle. I was 7 at that time. No one was expecting me to do it, waaoo what a feeling it comes when water pushes u back and u float on it. I had no...

It's great to just get in the water

and let all your feelings out while your doing laps... My mind wonders but it's ok because I "just keep swimming"(as Dory would say). The only let down is finding a peaceful time to go swimming because I don't like going when it's crowded with classes etc. but when I do go I...

    I think breathing deeply

and fully is something that we do not do enough of....And then it accumulates....and then we sigh lol. Just to breathe! Well, ok. That last one is theoretical. But in any case, I notice myself not breathing deeply enough throughout the day.. Swimming seems like a good way to...

I keep pushing. Every single day.

I want to be faster, stronger, leaner, I want more balance, I want huge lung capacity, I want the least resistance and the most propulsion, I feel greedy, I want more. I wish so much I had a great coach. Why am I swimming besides the obvious benefits to my mental and...

I finally seem to have gotten the butterfly.

I mean, sure, much much muchhhh needs to happen to make me into a decent butterflyer lol. But that feeling....that whipping flying feeling, its there! Did a length today on a single breath, with a monofin - granted - but it felt amazing.

My swim yesterday was a one-hour long session

of drills and some awkward flailing - or that is what it felt like! I am not sure why it felt so off..may be something I ate or perhaps the stresses of the past few days have caught up with me. I struggled in the water, taking breaths unevenly, dragging my legs like a wounded...

Swimming to me is in a sense natural,

even more than walking or talking. The fluid movements made in maneuvering through or under the water are beautiful. When I swim I feel free and apart from trivial worries. I wish I were a mermaid who lives swimming forever free in the wonder of the ocean. (〜^∇^)〜
